Hello to all the brides getting married during July 2012.

As I saw threads for the May brides, June brides and August brides, I thought perhaps a July one would be good for us to keep each other motivated in our seemingly quick journey.

So far I have: bought the dress, booked flowers, booked reception, arranged menu, ordered invites, bought tiara, booked photographer, booked mens suits and decided on BM dresses. So there is still loads to do yet.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one with a mission in the new year. Smiley smile

Oh dear, you are all putting me to shame.

I still have yet to do:

wedding rings, DJ, favours, table centres, table dressing, bridesmaid dresses (order, i know which already), suit fittings, dress alterations, make up trial, hair trial as I have no ideas, write and post invites, sort table plan, make a table plan, decide table names/numbers, transport (thats a biggie, whoops), sort oder of service, make order of service booklets, book honeymoon...

oh gosh, I'll stop there as it does continue unfortunately, and I get married july 21st! WELL DONE to all those who are far more organised than me.

How can it only be 5 months to go!?

I still have so much to do and thought I had ages!

I am far too lazy to be collecting addresses to send invites out

Well, he'll tell me the week before what type of things to pack. Even though he might tell me it's a city break it still wouldn't give the game away.

Plus I've told him I want to fly from Heathrow or Gatwick if poss so if there's anything I've missed I can pick it up then.

I'm really not sure how I'm managing!!!

    Hi Zoe,

It's someone who dresses your venue, ie. table centre pieces, chair covers and we are having floor standing candleabras and a few other bits 'n' pieces.

Where are you getting married? x

Hello! Another 28th July here. We have a lot of main stuff sorted like

church, venue, cake, dress, flowers, band, dj, rings and bridesmaids dresses

BUT no photographer as yet. Having a frigging nightmare trying to find one cos we have a pathetic budget. Also still need to sort smaller details (Mums are decorating as I have no creative abilities whatsoever) invites, gifts, jewellery & veil, suits, pay for most things, book lil honeymoon, confirm menu, table plan and i'm sure that's not even close to being it. sigh.

Where are you getting married? My friend who has done a short photography course is doing my photos with her friend who is a professional tog but only does it part time and so they are charging me a very reasonable price and I get all the pics on a disc, they are based around Cambridge.

Ignore that it's a child portrait website and just send her an email on the contact page.

Aw thanks Zoexxx I'm actually getting married in Wales!! I think this is part of the problem as I live in London. No contacts at all up there apart from my Gran and she unfortunately doesn't know any...

Thanks for this though! I'll send an email and see if they can travel? Maybe a long shot. I'm about to have a meltdown about it though so it's worth a try!

Most will travel, but may charge mileage.

We are in Norfolk and ours is travelling from Nottigham. But she is doing this for free as she is a new-ish start up (but very good and lovely!) and trying to broaden her portfolio and website diversity. She hasn't had a wedding at a windmill on the coast yet, so practically jumped at the chance.

For the first time since planning I'm starting to stress lol both mothers are driving me insane with one thing or another. Invites have gone out this week and I've already had a couple of replies.

Im starting to have wedding nightmares nearly every night and it's driving me mad lol!

On a plus note I've bought some letters to spell out cake to put on my cake table just need to spray them the right colour.

Maxine is right, I'm another date twin (or are we triplets?!) ?

I'm beginning to have the odd freak out, but keeping it in my head at the moment so no bridezilla moments! Trying to get OH to organise a couple of small things is the most difficult bit! I've lost quite a bit of weight now but would like to lose another 1.5 stone by Easter, as that's when I'm having my first dress fitting. I wouldn't mind losing a bit more after that, but as long as I'm 1.5 stone lighter by the first fitting I'll be happy with that as a main starting point and then hopefully it'll just be fine tuning!

Invites nearly done and I have everyone's postal addresses ready. Just need to get the final images, order the prints, and then start actually writing them!

Thanks for the help on this and to Zoe. Found a guy now who's from near to where OH is from so not too far from the venue. Sooo happy to tick that off the list. Was doing my head in. Apart from suits I think that's all the major stuff sorted woop!

Argh, I swear time is beginning to speed up! I've done nothing weddingy at all for a while as it's been a bit manic at work, but it's half term hols now so time to pause for a while. It's a bit of a shock seeing my ticker say 5 months and 10 days though - how did that happen?!

    This week, I hope to:

    * Pay for / finalise order on wedding rings

    * Have my MAC make up lesson (lesson is 90 mins and cost £50, but is refundable on any products bought and I know I'm buying MAC make up as have had 8 make up trials and they were by far the best!)

    * Finalise invites and send images to the printer

    * Buy envelopes for the invites and start addressing them

    * Order ribbon to complete the invites

    * Discuss the bar with licensee at our venue

    * Finalise cake choices and discuss with bridesmaids!

What are you all up to this week?

Oooh where can you do this?

I have a hair/make-up lady booked but she is being a bit flaky, which worries me and this would be a great back up plan! I have no idea what make up to buy or how to do it Smiley smile

I guess any of the MAC counters would do it? There isn't one in my area so I go to the one in Newcastle when I visit my sister. I had a trial there in November and LOVED the look she did for me (the trial cost £20 but again was refundable against products bought, so I already bought some pigment, lipstick and lipliner!) and it all stayed put from 11am when I had it on, to past midnight without any touch-ups.

I decided ages ago I would do my own make up as I'd rather spend the money on the products and have them to reuse after the wedding (and plenty of time before to practice so I feel confident doing touch ups as needed in the evening etc).

    Hi Everyone.

Time's moving quickly now! Under 5 months, can't believe it.

This weekend I printed my invitation inserts at my parents house. Pretty stressful as the insert isn't a standard size and the printer freaked out about it. Three hours later though, all done!

This week I'll be glueing in the inserts, writing in names and addressing envelopes. It's not a quick business though as we don't have everyone's addresses. I've asked my parents/OH parents for family friend addresses and facebooked/emailed everyone else but noone is replying (even though I KNOW some have been on FB!) So frustrating. If they don't reply, we can't invite them.

What's everyone else doing this week?x

Well done, it's the fiddly bits that are time consuming isn't it? Well we have a month by month list (OH isn't so freaked out this way!). So by end of Feb we are hoping to have our transport booked, just waiting on a price, book the table centres and pay the deposit, write and send out invites as soon as we get those (they are being made for us), begin playing with ideas for the order of service (because we take so long to make decisions) and order our wedding cake.

My private list involves deciding what gift to get my OH and tracking down and buying a veil and/or wedding shoes

Some progress so far this week - I've ordered the rest of the cotton tape for the bunting, bought my beyooooooootiful new MAC brushes, some of the make up, 9mm ribbon for the orders of service and the memory tree, booked the bar, finalised details and paid deposit for our cupcake favours, and finalised details and price for the hog roast.

Tomorrow I'll be paying for the rings - squee!

Oh, and we've ordered the envelopes for the invites, chosen our hymns, asked both of our chosen people to do readings, chosen one of the readings (for my mum), and organised music during the signing of the registers. We suddenly feel like we're making progress with all the little uncertanties!

I printed off drafts of all the invite stuff for my OH to look at. Seems to be like a lot of men and won't help out in any way but is happy to wade in with criticism for my final decisions. So now I'm slightly changing the text and then printing them off. My sister is drawing a design for the front so we can start putting them all together when I go back to my parents in 2 weeks. Can't wait to get them done, they have been the bane of my life!! Also having a nightmare with the band. They are friends of ours but recently got a video onto Kerrang and are now becoming slightly diva-ish and have asked for an extra hotel room for their equipment (???) and want us to pay for a sound guy.... OH was on the warpath last night so fingers crossed we still have a band once he's "told them where to go".

BUT our flowers are being done by my Gran's friend who I love so I was so touched that she offered ( esp as I have 8 bridesmaids... ridiculous I know). We also had a call from the organist that played for my mum and dad (getting married in the same church 26 years on ?) and he is going to do the same recessional they had for us so we're meeting him when we go up to wales to see the vicar again end of March. It's all getting quite real now!

Oh I know the man-help feeling! I ask my OH what he thinks, and he says, "I don't mind, honestly, you choose!" Then I present him with my choices, and he says, "Really? Weren't we going to go for X, Y and Z?" Duuuuur!! ?

I've just paid for my make up lesson, and paid for the wedding rings! So exciting!

Irritates the hell out of me!! Apparently if I talk to him about choices he always thinks I'm going for the first one and gets annoyed if I find a better deal and change my mind. Not sure why that's not allowed...

Where are you getting your make up lesson? I kinda fancy one of those

I need someone to light a fire up my butt re: weight loss.

I had 3st to lose about two years ago, and lost 2 by last April in time to be a bridesmaid for my friend, but I appear to have put 7-10 pounds back on, so effectively I have 2 stone to lose still... *grumpy*

There's 5 months to the wedding, so at the rate I lose weight (slowly, I've put my body through so many diets that it's gotten wise to what I'm doing and takes very little notice of my efforts!!) I'm going to be pushing it to lose 2 stone but I'd like to try for 1.5! I'm thinking of trying the Dukan Diet but only because I think I need a diet that tells me what to eat, rather than sets a calorie limit and leaves me to sort myself out. Has anyone tried this?

That and I'm going to get the timetable for my local gym and swimming pool to see which classes I can fit in around work!

Anyone else on a health kick?

Kind of on a health kick. To be honest, I am quite happy with my size. I thought I should try and lose around 12lb between New Year and July, to be the weight I was at 18 (6 years ago) and first met H2B (although my BMI is 22, so I don't NEED to). But then I went to my first dress fitting, and it looks bloody amazing! So I'm trying to eat well for clear skin and shiny hair, but have lost any motivation to lose weight. Although, I have been assured stress will work wonders in the weeks prior to the wedding. I'l'l hang on for that!
