July 2012 Brides - It's Our Turn This Time Next Year!!!

*JLS*, 5 July, 2011 at 11:19 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hello Ladies, I have been trying to find a thread for July 2012, but the search function isn't working for me ?. I'm just getting excited because in a couple of days it will be a year until we tie the knot ?.

How are we all getting on? I'm at a bit of a standstill at the moment. How are my date quins - sara22louise, Schiocco, Poppyseed, Moonpie 1985 - getting on?

It's so exciting now we're at the year mark!

We're all go at the moment, booked honeymoon last week, h2b is very excited about that!

We have so far booked the church and the venue, got a tasting evening with the venue in September so we will hopefully agree on food choices then! The pig for our hog roast in the evening has been ordered. My dress has been purchased, it just needs a few alterations to length, got my shoes too! H2b has a suit fitting a week on saturday when hopefulyl he'll choose the fianal suit. We took my BM's shopping on saturday so it's all go with their dresses now and we've got a meeting to finalise the flowers this week! Also got the chair covers and sashes booked. Save the dates have been sent too ?

We are looking to book the DJ (a family friend) and the cars within the next few weeks.

How are other July brides doing?

9 days to go for me this time next year! I'm even nervous thinking that after next week, it'll be less than a year because people keep saying time will really fly after that!

I've got most things booked now and an idea is forming in my head about how the whole day will look, but I'm resisting finalising too many things at this stage. I'm spending the next couple of months just letting things settle and being sure I'm happy with my choices before mkaing anything final! The new year will be a bustle of dress fittings, hair&make-up trials, cake consultations and shopping with the bridesmaids for the finishing touches. I'm really looking forward to that Smiley smile

A big ? for all the July 2012 ladies!

Yey! Come the 7th July and it will be just a year to go for me Smiley laugh

    So far:

    Bought Dress

    Borrowed Tiara

    Booked Church

    Booked venue

There isnt much else on our plans to get sorted until a few months away yet. We might try and get a photographer sorted soon. Decided to leave sorting a honeymoon til towards the end of the year.

Will do save the dates in November. I feel like the laziest wedding planner in the world!

The OH is starting to fall behind with his jobs - he hasn't even decided on a best man yet!

I've just sent out the rest of our Save the Dates, hen w-end invites going out next week (giving people chance to save up) and then going to start booking / buying more things next month.

Wish I had an endless pot of money, I could spend a bomb on this wedding. Lol.

How exciting, nearly a year to our day!!

I still haven't done very much so far, booked the church, got somewhere sorted to put the marquee, booked hair and make up for me and my bridesmaids and cake no worry as i'm making it myself, but thats about it!! Infact I'm getting a bit stressed out with suppliers, ? i want to get the marquee and everything that goes with it booked as well as a caterer but they all seem to take weeks to reply, I know there is still loads of time but i just want it booked so i can forget about it!!, sorry rant over!!

I guess soon I must start thinking about dresses, for us all, Iv'e got lots of ideas though does that count?

How about you JLCB2B how are you getting on?

I feel like I am almost there ? So far I have booked the venue, registrar, dj, photographer, cake, florist and hair and make up lady. I have bought my dress, shoes and have decided on jewellery and ordered bridesmaid dresses. OH is ordering his kilt and we have an appointment to get fitted in August. We also have save the dates and invitations in the house. We don't need transport as we are staying in the venue the night before and it is all happening in one place. BM is on the case with the hen celebrations.

Can anyone think of anything else I may have missed?

Aw, I love this post! I'm not a bigger chatter on hitched, but this one definitely caught my eye!!

I'm working on a 'one task a month' system. Already booked church, reception, cars, DJ, chair covers, hairdresser and photographer. And I'm making my own cake. I've chosen my dress and going on Saturday to order it with my mum (eek!!), and then I'm onto flowers... decided what we want, just need to find a lovely florist.

I've got lots of lists of things to do later down the line, and it just keeps growing and growing. I'm a little bit crafty so want to make as much as possible. Thank goodness there's still a year to go!!

I keep thinking - 'thursday will be our minus one year anniversary'!!

Do any of you wish your wedding was this year instead?

Hmmm, I think ideally, I'd like to be married now but still have the wedding next year!! I'd hate to rush the planning and either not enjoy it or end up picking things which didn't really reflect 'us'.
