July/Summer 2012 Brides

Hi. I've got the venue, registrar, TOG, and dress sorted and thats about it atm! Would love to start doing other stuff right now but waiting for some monies! Its so annoying not being able to do anything else; makes you lose the excitement a bit!

I'm just about to order the save the date cards, all the people that need to be booked are booked but haven't really started looking at rings yet I thought it was too early. What's this about the price of metal going up?

Just about to order my dress, not really started on bridesmaids until mine is definite. How expensive are wedding shoes though?! Decent ones anyway!

Have you thought about what readings etc you want? Another thing I've been doing is keeping a list of songs I hear on the radio that I can give to DJ as a must to be played at the evening reception!

That's a good idea. I've started a Wedding Disco Ipod list which I keep adding songs to.

Spangler, just in case you're reading this, it does not include any Simon Webbe songs! It does have 'Blame it on the Boogie' though ?

I have brought and got my dress ?

Chosen and asked all who are in the Wedding party

Things we are sorting out this summer:

Garden games (OH is making a coconut shy etc)

Invites (we aren't sending out STD, so we are sending them very early as they need to include a lot of info)

Our Wedding Website

OH to decide what the men and boys will be wearing.

OH needs to get lots of songs for the Ipod. We want to try and get as much done this year as possible. I have a feeling next year will go VERY quickly!

Have also ordered lots of bit and bobs: pressies for bridal party, table crystals, decorations, etc etc.

Still need to find bridesmaids dresses, order mens suits, favours and order invitations.

I'm in a lull the same as you at the moment. I've got everything booked (DJ was the last big thing and we booked him last week!) and I'm not quite ready to move on to the details yet!!

The things I play with when I feel like a bit of wedding planning at the moment are:

1. Playlist for wedding music

2. The wording for the Orders of the Day and Invitation Inserts - deciding what I think needs to go in and typing up the wording so I can play with it a few times before I pass it to the stationer

3. Favours - decided I want them, don't know what to have, probably something me and my bridesmaids can spend a day assembling for fun

Other than that, not doing much other than looking forward to my pre-shoot in September!

Im a July bride and DEFINATELY in a lull at the moment, I want time to go quicker and get to that year mark:

Ive got a meeting with the florist this weekend to get some ideas/quotes but have put this off for as long as I can so I have something to enjoy!

Ive also mocked up invites so know roughly what i want but not buying materials until end of year incase I change my mind and have a good ideas on bridesmaids dresses but again will wait til end of year to order them.

Men are suiting suits in new year....

So now I am waiting............

I'm July and definately feeling the lull So far we have:

Only things left to do are:

• Buy rings - will be making an appointment with Smooch soon
• Buy/arrange hire of Kilts - OH's job
• Book Videographer (depends on budget)
• Book Honeymoon - OH's job

I have set up a few playlists on youtube (i.e. walking up the aisle, first dance, signing registrar) and keep adding songs on as I hear them on radio/tv.

I just wish it was next year as I would be getting hitched in a couple of weeks ?

I'm a July bride. I've come to a lull too. Had a fab few months of booking things, but then had a few issues with venue dresser and now in a 'can't be ar*ed' mood.

Firstly, am I being really silly by not knowing what TOG is?!

My wedding is a year today and I have all the big things booked. I'm going dress shopping on saturday, really excited! Desperatley looking for yellow bridsemaid dresses if anyone has seen any please let me know!

I'm doing all the little bits like looking for favours, cameras for the table and bubbles as we aren't having confetti. Also designing the invites.

Another idea we've decided to do is create a web site for our wedding. It saves putting loads of extra bits in like hotel details and directions etc. Its free as well! www.ewedding.com check it out.

You are all doing so well, I think I might be a little behind, so far I have booked the Church, Florist, and mine and Bridemaids Hair and Makeup, have Venue sorted but as yet don't have a Marquee/ everything to go in the Marquee, Cake sorted as making it myself but have got to find Caterers yet.

Not even been out looking at dresses yet, i keep putting that off, but guess i can't for much longer nothing done for Bridesmaids yet either, but I have seen Shoes i love!!

Guess I need to get my backside into gear, and start doing a bit of planning!!

It means photographer - there's a list at the start of this forum of all the abbreviations you may come across, it will come in handy as it may feel like we are speaking another language!!

So i'm new and feeling VERY behind! Our wedding is July 2012 and the only thing we have booked is our venue!

Dress shopping tomorrow with my mum & sister though so very excited! ?

I'm a July 2012 bride. July 21st to be exact - any twins?

We've got a fair bit booked but I am far from being in a lull. In fact, I've got so many wedding ideas (and lists!) going round in my head that I am having trouble concentrating on anything. I am a control freak and a planner but it is SO much harder this time around. Where are you supposed to fit wedding planning in between a full time job, two children, housework, trying to start up a business and dealing with health issues?! So many ideas, so little time.

Hello July brides, I'm July 13th - got venue, registrar and Tog booked and dress bought. Everything else is almost sorted but only in my head - sure it will all work out!

Also STD's have arrived but not the envelopes yet - hopefully tomorrow. (makes me giggle everytime I see someone talking about their STD's!)

We seem to have hit a bit of a lul too, although now we're approaching the year mark I'm getting back into it!

So far we have:

Table decorations and vases purchased

Save the dates sent

Chair covers and sash's booked

We have a meeting with the catering manager at our venue next week and a meeting with our florist the week after along with bridesmad shopping....wish me luck for that one!
