What am I missing?

    Hi I am pretty much sorted part from BM dresses and mens suits. Are you having a cake?

    Hey! Sounds like your pretty much sorted. The only other things I can think of are suits for the guys and honeymoon if your having one.

    I have pretty much sorted the same as you, my flowers are booked but I haven't sorted hair, makeup or my accessories. Going to sort them out after christmas!

    What date in June are you getting married?

    Oh yeah, suits booked also, i've e-mailed someone about a cake today, depends what price we get depends whether we have one. I refuse to pay £250 for 1.

    16th June so not long after you

    I have so many things running through my head it's driving me mad so trying to get everything sorted

    Unfortunately that's pretty standard price for a cake unless you have a talented friend/relative to make one for you.

    Yeah but more a last minute thing. We've not got a specific destination so will just book a last minute deal (unless we find something we really wanna book beforehand)

    I feel as though we are getting there now, we have managed to sort quite a few bits over the last few weeks.

    Booked-

    Venue, caterer, celebrant, registrar, my dress, my halo, my shoes, wedding rings, photographer, DJ, florist, invites made, hair and make up artist, favours., flights, accomodation.

    To do-

    Ushers and BM outfit, H2B suit, BM dresses, BM shoes, thank you gifts, choose menu, choose music choices, make other stationery- OOD, menus etc, make decision on homeymoon!

    I am sure to have forgotten something off my list!

    I've done lots over last few weeks too, I got fed up of it all so didn't do anything for ages but I'm back into it now.

    I forgot about favours - I've bought some cute little bags but not decided what to put in them yet.

    Also thank you gifts - I've got my mums but thats all, I'm struggling what to buy the others, who are you buying for?

    I'm buying my mum, dad, H2B Mum, Best Man, Flower Girl and my 2 children.

    I can't see anything you've forgotten, so either there is nothing or that means I've forgot something too ?

    Ooh you're all far more organised than me!

    I've sorted church, reception venue (hotel so food, drink, DJ, centerpieces and linen & bows are included), accommodation for us and guests, my dress, photographer, my dad is designing and printing my invites and stationary for us (he's a graphic designer so struck gold with that one as will save us lots of time and money!).

    And we've got everything else to do! ? Although we think we know what cars we wants and we're going to look at rings on Friday as we both have a day off so will hopefully tick more things off the list. I'm really struggling to find BM dresses too in our colour scheme too (dusky pink).

    This may be a good thread to give me a much need kick up the bum from other June 2012 brides!

    I'm July, but I'm pretending I'm June for organisational reasons as I'm a teacher and chose to get married the first Saturday of the school holidays ? so I'll literally have 1 empty day the day before the wedding to decorate the hall, so everything else MUST be totally sorted way before then! (I have warned my class that they may be writing name tags and stitching bunting in the last 2 weeks of term ? )

    So far, I have sorted:

    Church, wedding breakfast venue and menu, evening reception venue, flowers, transport, my dress and shoes, bridesmaids outfits, STD cards (already sent out), half sorted invites (someone else designing them as a wedding gift, but we'll be getting them printed and putting them together), website, cake (CBM doing the main 2-tier cake, plus a fruit cake, and other BMs doing other cakes for evening do - all EXCELLENT bakers!), music for evening reception (DIY!), most of the church service incl. processional music and hymns, table decorations, have chosen in our heads the other hall decs but haven't ordered yet.

    Still to sort:

    Food for the evening reception, my veil and underwear, hair (appointment booked for later this month), make up (doing it myself but still experimenting with different brands through various makeovers), gifts for bridesmaids (it'll be jewellery, and I've chosen what I want to give them thanks to louloubelle jewellery, but I'm giving them final say), recessional music, first dance song, music during the signing of the register (although may have sorted this as I accosted a busker recently! OH has yet to hear him though), gifts for parents.

    Need to: decide on favours, sort mens suits and page boy outfits, buy rings, book hair and make up.

    I'm 16th June Smiley smile

    We have: Venue, Photographer, Insurance, Flowers, Cake, Chair Covers, Rings, Chocolate Fountain, Save the dates (which are being posted this week!) invitations, table plan is put together, just need to add the names, dress, veil, shoes,hair and make up artist, harpist / flautist, dj, band and honeymoon (booked yesterday!!!!)

    Still to do: BM dress, Suits for the men, presents, choose menu, finish my 1000 crane project (why, oh why did i start this?!?!) and then the smaller things that may pop up. Still have to choose most of the music!

    We have registered for the borough we are getting married in too but have to get an appointment in our own borough, but will do that after xmas as they are very busy at the moment.

    Pinky6 that's actually quite a good quote we got quotes ranging from 300-600 but found a lady willing to do it for 180 with delivery Smiley smile where do you live?

    We're 22nd June (and CAN'T WAIT!!!!)

    We've bought/booked: Church and reception venue, 1st night accomodation, cars, cake, flowers, guitarist, magician, photographer, his wedding ring, my dress, my tiara, BM dresses and sourced the mens suits.

    We're yet to sort out: Invitations, decorations, favours, evening entertainment, shoes & accessories, gifts, my wedding ring, hair/make up and all the little bits.

    OH is in charge of the honeymoon so (of course) that's not booked yet!

    My planning has sort of ground to a halt now but I think it'll probably pick up in the new year. In the mean time we've just bought our first house together and get the keys tomorrow, so that's taking all my focus!

    End of June, so not too bad.

    Sorted so far:

    Church (mostly, apart from the exact details of our connection - if we can't sort, registrar's licence will have to do, but I'd much prefer banns!) date and time of wedding booked, choir, organist and bells "booked" but need to speak to the organist with choices after Christmas. Priest in Charge has agreed that he will accept the registrars licence if necessary.

    Reception venue

    Caterers and main food choices - there are a couple of special diets to deal with though, major stress being 1 vegan and no suitable canapes!

    Cake: I'm making it and have bought stand. Budgeted £67 for 3 tier fruit cake cost of ingredients and icing only. Stand cost £28 from ebay. Still need to get cake drums, ribbons (when I've decided on the colour!)

    My dress: Deposit paid to dressmaker, basic design agreed. Fabric chosen and I assume ordered. Initial toile fittings after Christmas.

    Shoes: Bought!

    Bridesmaids: Adult BMs dresses - deposit paid, fabric purchased, basic design agreed. Measurements/ fittings in not too distant future. Initial fittings to coincide with Hen party.

    Flowergirls: I've met them! Definitely getting high street dresses, probably Monsoon, but will depend how much I like next season's collection. Failing that BHS, John Lewis or Debenhams seem to be consistently acceptable. Need to decide if they're getting sashes or not (depends on dress style!). Buying in Jan/Feb as it's less of a guess what size they'll actually need (ages 2.5 to 5 at the moment, so growth is likely!) Probably making tiaras!

    Hair/ Makeup. Flowergirls aren't getting theirs done, one BM definitely isn't getting makeup or hair, still need to speak to other one about that. Mine provisionally booked - will trial in March but I know the style/look I want.

    Tog = booked. Not having a Vog.

    Old New Borrowed Blue: New= shoes, veil and dress. Old, borrowed and blue hanky being lent by my step mum! Borrowing CBM's pearls as well

    Still need to sort:

    Flowers: Have appointments with florists this week and next - waiting to hear from a 3rd and will decide after the last appointment.

    Rings: Getting there - have some possibles (mostly H Samuel). Need to drag dear OH to see them in the flesh - he approves of my choices in the pictures he's seen. He also needs to try on rings to decide on width.

    Suits: 2 possibles in the town we're getting married in, both reasonable in price and if they're more expensive than Moss, the potential to prevent major stresses as they're on the doorstep is huge, so worth any price difference. OH needs dragging to try on suits.

    Jewellery: Borrowing CBM's pearls for necklace. Playing with various ideas for earrings/tiara, will either make my own or make a mock up and get someone competent to make.

    Band: Being rubbish, want a Ceilidh band, made initial enquiries 5 months ago, not really got anywhere yet - next priority after I sort the flowers.

    Invites. DIY! Waiting for the leaves to come off the trees (and a clearish day) to get photo for OH to turn into a line drawing for the front of the invites. Need to order sample card and envelopes. Rest can wait until nearer the time.

    I'm also the 16th June and all that we have left to sort are the suits, FG dresses and to finalise the cake choice. Everything else is booked/bought. Just the finishing touches nearer the time, like making up the favours, copying the music choices and buying gift bags for the thank you presents.

    7 months today! Wooooty!

    We have brought/booked a lot of things so far. Left to get - OH's outfit, sort the music out, give notice, meet the helper lady who will help us on the day (she works with my sister)

    I cant believe there is only 7 months to go, it seems like yesterday that it was february, which was when I proposed to OH.
