kitten!

AmnesiaCustard, 7 May, 2013 at 11:00 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 39

We are going to have a new kitten!

H's daughter's cat has had kittens and we have decided that we much prefer our house with a cat in it, and are missing the presence of a furry dictator after the sad demise of Bart in January...

so yesterday we skyped our new kitten! Squeaky meow! He/she (??) is only three weeks old so we have to wait a while, but it's a big ? from me!

All the kittens are dark with varying tortoiseshell markings.

Names - open to suggestions! (I suspect H is favouring Clive or Horace.)

Why would a specific genetic mechanism affecting a coat colour gene imbue a "naughty" personality on a cat? ?

Good news AC. I like human names on animals - the more mundane, the better. What about Keith?

Aww! Brilliant news! When we move, it's going to be our first investment (sod tables and chairs!) A house with a cat is a happy house. I quite like the name Nigel for a cat at the moment.

I used to have a cat called Hugo and my OH's Aunt has one called Steve, In-Laws new cat is going to be Keith.

Fabby news!! Am v jealous as not allowed a cat in case it upsets OHs dog (don't ask!).

I like Geoffrey for a cat (a modern update on christopher smarts jeoffry).

Great news AC!! Make sure you flash, you know how we love fur-babies here. I think Brian is a great name for a kitten. Or Doris.

Will try to get stepdaughter to email some pictures. Will of course, post them as soon as I have any!

I have to imagine myself shouting these names out of the back door when calling the cat.

"DOOOOORRRISSSSSSSSSS, get back in here you dirty stop out."

Our 2 are Charlie (girl) and Boris (but answers to Bonks/Bonkers)

    Can I have???

I love the naughtiness of kittens, I can never be mad at the teeny innocent faces (unlike the terrible twosome who have reached their teenager phase and are driving me up the wall)

    Swap?? ?

I like human names for cats! Although ours is Moby as he was named before so we kept it.

I like Geoffrey, Clive, George (after curious george) and Alan seems to be the name we call everything in our house that has no name ie car or the Hoover so id love an Alan cat.
