So I have just posted these in the Hitched awards and realise they make a pretty damn good wedding report without me having to do much reporting!
We had a fantastic day. Thanks to hitched I managed to keep relatively sane throughout planning and I really would do it all again
Here is our wedding album and some chatter about the photos...sorry but it will be a bit disjointed! Click on the pictures if you are that keen you would like to make them bigger
My dress was from Phase Eight, I didn't spend a great deal of time trying on dresses. I had seen this one online and kept going back to it. Ma and I went to Manchester and I tried Debenhams, Coast etc, saved Phase Eight til last and ordered one there and then. It arrived at my mums house two days later. Apart from having the belt stitched on I didn't have any alterations and probably only tried it on about 3 times in the lead up to make sure it still fit. So it stayed in a box under my mums bed for just over a year!
The night before I stayed over night at Bolton Wonderers football ground the night before with my mum, two bms and sister in law and my new nieces who where also bms. Sadly we lost my Nana 4 years ago and she loved going to the football there, had a season ticket every year so it seemed like the best place to stay and I know she would have been so excited for us- she would no doubt have joined us if she was still with us.
I was fortunate to be able to go 'home' to get married in the Church where my parents, my Nana and Grandad and Great Nanny and Grandad all got married and where my brothers and I were all christened (and my mum and auntie!)
Rivington Church is beautiful and getting married there meant that I felt even close to my Nana on the day, it is a very special place for our family. It was the only place I would have ever considered to get married.
My flowers where also from the same florist that did my Mums wedding flowers nearly 35 years ago a local florist called Ron Burgesses and it is still a lovely family business although now it was Rons daughter running the shop. I cried at seeing my flowers, I hadn't given Nicola much of a brief but man I thought they were gorgeous and I had given her frames of both grandparents getting married to tie on to my bouquet. (my Grandad on my dads side is very poorly and couldn't come to the wedding) so it was nice to have them all there in an odd way. I had obviously seen the idea on Hitched and everybody thought they were fantastic.
My adult girls wore dresses also from Phase Eight and the little ones came from John Lewis, our teenage bridesmaid had her dress from River Island- I really am a high street queen!
My dad had organised my wedding car as a surprise, we have always loved old cars and campers and I did have an inkling he would book a camper for my (especially as we went camper vanning for our honeymoon) and I was not disappointed and more impressively he booked one in matching colours! Throughout the run up to the wedding he would often text or email little Dad jokes about needing wild animal licences and space for a helipad etc I love my Dad
The guy I am laughing with in the bottom right just before going in to Church is my God Father and I was so happy he made it, he couldn't stay for the whole wedding as he has a car dealership and was mad busy for the new registration date the next day.
Church highlights: I got half way down the aisle and started to cry! Thank goodness the Rev had a tissue. Also Boyo couldn't get my ring on so I had to do it myself! Top left second pic, I love how my dad is holding my bouquet! The service went in an absolute blur.
I am very lucky that my brothers and boyo get on so well, the middle pics above is them having a massive hugs. Big softies!
Our reception was at The Windmill Inn near Knutsford. Kim and the team were fab.
Due to having a Cheshire and Lancashire split we chose mostly based on geographical location and the fact it was a smashing pub- we like pubs.
Apparently nibbles got passed around but I never saw them! And we had cocktails on arrival, cosmos and whiskey sours.
Dinner was fish and chips or steak and ale pie, followed by Eton Mess, Fruit Crumble or Chocolate Brownie - I need to find some photos as the food was immense, huge portions and very very tasty.
My hand stamped place tags (idea from Cilla!)
Jelly bean Favours

Speeches were hilarious, boyo confessed afterwards to getting his idea for his speech from Hitched and yet I had never heard of it (surprisingly!) he did it in rhyme and when he did the opening couplet I cringed but it was brilliant- I really shouldn't doubt him so much! The best man started out with a low blow about the night boyo was conceived and about his dad coming but luckily it did not stay smutty for too long and he won everyone back around. My dad rocked as ever and even gave us presents, rubber duck for boyo and a train for me and tied them into his speech very sweet.
Obligatory couples photo shoot, you wouldn't think we could here the roar of the M6 and where behind the pub car park!
And yes that is a real butterfly that was there by its own free will!
So all in all we had a wonderful day...
And stayed sensible and respectable and oh no wait, that's a load of tosh!
It got messy!
(spot the hitchers if you can!)
Tequila shots with the landlord at who knows what time when Footers PB and Mr PB finally left Just look at my husbands suit- scruffy buggar!
I think that will do- we all know they photos are the best bits! If you have any burning questions about what I had for breakfast or something just let me know
Thanks for having a look- now and go vote for me in the hitched awards!
