Lake District Bride!! Not local- NEED HELP!

Hi and welcome, I'm not local to Cumbria but I'm also getting married there next year. So was just wondering where and why and generally being nosey. We're getting married (but technically a blessing) at Wasdale in August next year. We're having the reception at Wasdale Head Inn and they have been very helpful in sourcing suppliers for us.

we are getting married at the rampsbeck hotel at Ullswater, then a boat ride! I am hoping to get some sort of entertainment on the boat... Hopefully!

we are only having a small wedding, just 30 of us. At first we looked at a hotel in Nether Wasdale, but then I had my heart set on a boat trip, there are a lot of places to choose from but everywhere seemed too big or touristy!

We are just having cup cakes, they are really cheap too!

Just hope it doesn't rain,,,

Not sure what sort of entertainment you're after or what sort of thing you want, but there's a great acoustic group I know of that are based up that way. It's a girl and a man and they do mainly acoustic/mellow stuff but I loved them and they're super relaxed and she's got a great voice. Their website is www.mangoacoustic.co.uk

We don't live in the Lake District but are getting married there next year.

We're getting married in Borrowdale in keswick and are using sugar ruffles for our cake and a singer from the north east for our evening and a string quartet for during the day, pm me if you want there details.

Lots of Lake District brides, I'm hoping it doesn't rain too as we're walking from the hotel to the church. I'm banking on a heat wave for next year ?

And how much space is available on the boat, cos that may limit singers due to their setup. Might be worth finding out .

I used to work there when I was 16!!! Sorry just a random fact there - I grew up in Gosforth so just down the road from Wasdale. We got married at The Bridge Inn at Eskdale, and went to Wastwater for our wedding photos, beautiful backdrop for the day. Hope you get weather like we did, high 20s!
