Lake Garda

We went to Lake Como on honeymoon and just adored it. The only thing I would warn you about is the changeable weather! because the lakes seem to have their own micro-climate so you get rain showers interspersed with hot sun! - Well we did in June, not sure what it will be like in september.

Whiterose84 (I think?) over on BT got married there so she might have some recs. (I only know this because of her old user name!) she usually hangs out on the tri threads I think.

We went to Malcesine on honeymoon which is further up the coast, was lovely.

Absolutely loved Lake Garda, we went there about 5 yrs ago at the end of July (fantastic weather, hot and not sticky heat, which was great).

I think from memory the area we stayed in was near to Limone.

We went as a package and had a day trip to Venice and a ride on the gondolas and to the Dolomite mountains (truly breathtaking up at the peak) and the little villages around it so gorgeous.

We aim to go back one day and to go to other parts of Italy too, loved the place.

I did indeed get married there. I pop over and lurk on OT every now and then and saw your post Claire. It is such a beautiful place, you will love it. We stayed in Malcesine which was on the opposite side to Sirmoine. My friends got a day ticket for the boat taxi's. Think it was roughly 15 euros. But you could hop on and off as much as you like and go all over to the different towns. I'd highly recommend taking the cable car to the top of Monte Baldo. We had the same weather changes as willow. Week 1 was scorching and week 2 was thunderstorms. Any questions, just ask! Looneysh also got married there in May this year, I don't know if she ventured out of Malcesine. Hope that helps xxx
