Las Vegas Hotels???

Koshka85, 23 September, 2013 at 21:43 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 10

Oh my God! We have just taken the plunge and booked our flights to Las Vegas for the first leg of our honeymoon next July/August! MEGA excited. We have been deliberating for ages about where to go.. We have always wanted to go to the States, but then were worrying that it was too much money so started thinking of other options.. but then we decided that this is our once in a lifetime holiday and in 30 years time, we would always look back and think why didn't we just do it?!

I found a good deal on a flight today direct from manchester to las vegas for really good price, also managed to upgrade for not much more and still worked out cheaper than I've seen before! So we just booked it! agh! Not planned anything else yet (we are thinking, vegas - san francisco - somewhere beachy like the keys or miami - and then new york)

Started looking at hotels in vegas tonight, but have absolutely no idea where to start!! There are too many! Budget per night is probably around £100-130 per night. Somewhere fairly central, good views, lovely rooms, the usual stuff.. Has anyone been to any that they loved? Recommendations, advice??

Thanks!

Couldn't recommend The Vdara enough, absolutely amazing! Here is my review from tripadvisor off last year if it helps and saves me typing again ha Smiley smile i think it was just over $300 for 3 nights

'Room was amazing! So much space, immaculate, comfy bed, beautiful bath and everything we could have hoped for. The maid service was great and our room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. Pool area and service was also fantastic. Every staff member we encountered was professional and polite. Location of the hotel was also very good with easy access to the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. We were lucky enough to have a view of the Bellagio fountains from our room which was the icing on the cake. There was also no hustle and bustle as the hotel has no casino and we didn't feel it was used as a thoroughfare to other locations, like some of the other hotels seemed to.

Next time we go to Vegas I will definitely be staying here, superb value for money!!

One slight glitch when I checked my bill I had been charged incorrectly, but this was sorted after a quick e-mail and wouldn't deter me at all from staying here again as it was such a great hotel.'

We stayed at The Mandarin Oriental when we were in LV last year. It was amazing! The best hotel I have EVER stayed in! I'm not sure how much it cost, but it really was sublime! Not your typical flashy Las Vegas hotel, just simple luxury.

I was in Vegas in November and we stayed at the MGM grand.....AMAZING! I wouldnt stay down the other end of the strip e.g Circus circus end as we got a taxi past all of these and they looked run down. We booked an internal flight to San Francisco for £100 to leave early morning and be back late evening as we only wanted to see Alcatraz and do a bus tour but wanted to stay in Vegas on the night. Smiley smile Ill answer any questions you have as its all pretty fresh in my mind.

Im dragging the OH there for our Honeymoon but wasnt going to book the flights till next year Smiley smile

We are getting married at the Bellagio and are studying there. My parents once stayed at Caesar's Palace which they said was amazing. Don't forget to build in resort taxes for the different hotels you're looking at.

I stayed at the Luxor back in 2006 and although I didn't have any specific problems, I wouldn't stay again. We're going for our honeymoon too and staying at the New York (as that's were the booking agent put us and it was on my list as a maybe, so didn't go any further). Depends on your budget, but the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and Venitian all stick in my mind as being amazing looking hotels.

Just some advice, we looked at travelling around US (originally wanted to do SanFran, New Orleans, Florida), but getting direct flights seems tricky and the costs were getting out of hand, so bear (bare?) that in mind before you get your heart set on anything.

I've been to NYC twice, so could advise about that too (amazing city, 100% stole my heart)

    Thanks!

Oooo will defo take you up on your advice about NYC, we haven't looked at accommodation there yet.

We have managed to find some great flight deals, fly out direct to Vegas from Manchester and the price was £370 which I thought was really good. Have been doing a lot of hunting and am pleased with the flights we have found :-) Just booked them quickly in case they started going up!

Good luck with the rest of your planning!

Good tip about resort taxes, I didn't know about those until I started looking into them a bit more - it can add quite abit on to the total can't it!x

Blueshoes888 - we were looking at the Vdara! We couldn't decide between Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria and Vdara! It's so hard to make a decision, yjey all have great reviews though so I keep trying to tell myself that whichever we choose I'm sure we'll be happy.

We then booked the third part of our honeymoon in Key West and ended up splurging a little bit to get an upgraded room with a private balcony which overlooks the hotel's private beach.. so we ended up spending a bit more than anticipated. We therefore decided that we will spend a little bit less in Vegas and go for either the Aria or the Vdara, as they have fab reviews and are around £300 cheaper than the Cosmo and Bellagio. It would be fab to have a view of the fountains though!

Ah it was fab and would be an amazing choice Smiley smile We looked at the Cosmo too but some reviews put us off in terms of the party atmosphere and it has the casino too, we liked the Vdara because there was no casino and like I said in my review wasn't used as a through route to other places. You are directly attached to the Bellagio and 2 mins from the Cosmopolitan and Aria as well so you wouldn't miss out.

I will try to figure out if I can send you pics via private message as I have some of the room and the view of the room too! If I can't do it via PM and you want to see them I have no problem if you want to message me your email and I will send them onto you. xx

    Hi

We have been to Vegas a few times....love it! I would highly recommend the Bellagio. It is in the centre of the strip and the service is second to none. Great hotel. We have stayed at the Luxor - too far out. My friend stayed at the MGM, this was too far out too. Book the hotel direct with the hotel - you usually get a good exchange rate and can request a particular floor/view and say it is your honeymoon! You get into the airport and get a cab straight to the hotel so no need to book with a travel agent. xxx
