It's funny how there is one thing which runs through all the dresses...

Amythest yours are all really girly and flowing, Mine are all a bit princessy and MrsB2B both have that cute "waterfall" effect.

As I went through the dresses I saw different bits I liked and that eventually found one dress which encompassed all the bits.

Awwwww i'm loving that ballerina one!!!!

Mine wasnt an easy task. had to be modern but had to have a 1940s flair to it.......I dont have my planning disc to hand with the pictures, I did a post a few months back..

I tried on some gorgeous dresses but none that flattered my curves (cough), even now, I dont know if I like the dress I chose!

I started out convinced i was going to have something along these lines:

Then after actually trying some dresses on i moved onto some real lacey fitted numbers

And fell in love with this, and was all ready to order.....

When an impulse pop into a bridal shop i was passing in town made me try this on:

and so a lovely 2nd hand version of this is sitting happily ever after at the dressmakers, the end!!

The dress I thought was "The ONE" by Stewart Parvin. Tried it on and it made me look a bit ill as it's quite cream.

There were a few others but the main contenders were the Stewart Parvin and then I ended up with my Ian Stuart:

Oh Sloan!! I saw this at the Perth wedding fayre on Sunday - one of the cat walk dresses and I fell in love with it... Its STUNNING. What/who is it? They weren't announcing the designer or names, and the dressers were all too manic to chat (i was behind the scenes, dealing with the flowers for the models to hold so got to see it lots and lots)! I did go and ask Ivory Whites and Aliya Rose afterwards who were both showing collections and it didn't come from either of their stores, so I never did find out what it was! But its gorgeous. (and looked stunning with antiquey looking vintage roses!) Isn't it just lush Teehee? Good taste!

I didn't really do much research before I went shopping, so I didn't have too much of an opportunity to change my mind a lot. But whenever I imagined what my dress might look like, I thought it would be lace and quite fitted. So when I found this one when I was shopping, I loved it:

But then what I actually ended up with was this one, it took me quite a while to take the plunge and order it because it is so much more glamorous and showy compared to the demure lace numbers I had in mind!

Aw it's so gorgeous no one is going to notice the pounds - the back is stunning! Great choice!

Here's mine - I fell in love with it when I saw it and had to try it on. I did buy another one that was quite similar as I was nervous about paying such a large amount, but I couldn't stop thinking about my maggie so had to get it!! I did try on some ivory/white ones, but they weren't me

It's by Phil Collins, who is a less well known desginer and that was reflected in the price - it's less than half price of my options 2 or 3.

Tina - my friend's just bought that dress - it's stunning!

I was quite restricted in what I could have as we're getting married abroad, so the princessy style dresses were already out for me I started off looking at things like this....

Moved on to this...

Fell in love with..........

Felt I had to completely discount anything lacey as my friend had a lace overlay dress (and she's one of the very few people who will be at my wedding!)

So have ended up buying (and wobbling about) this.....
