Location Location Location! *Flashes*

Hi guys,

I've kind of fallen in love with a venue without seeing it....

What do you think? Haven't been to see it yet, and don't know how much it is, but it's perfect distance wise and its beautiful as far as I can see from the pictures!

How far are you guys travelling to get married in your ideal location? You'd think Blackpool, loads of places to get married, but we don't want to do a hotel on the prom, nothing wrong with it, just personally we don't want to do it, but we're trying to keep it in easy distance so that people can easily get to it/from it, rather than having mega costs (like a recent wedding where is cost us over £250 in just train fares and accomodation)

Do you think we're restricting ourselves too much? Did you see the venue of your dreams and change your mind about travelling?

Is anyone from the north west/Blackpool area? If you are I'd be interested to know where you're getting married, and what suppliers you're using etc. ?

It looks lovely....totally my kind of venue! I hope it is as nice when you see it "in the flesh".

I did the same fell in love with a venue based on the website/brochure...but when we got there it was VERY run down. People were arriving at 12noon for a wedding at 2.30pm and the place was dirty. I was really disappointed...I honestly could cried when we turned into the long sweeping drive...beautiful place but not looked after. But based on the website I would have booked it!

We have ended up with a similar style venue but literally 2miles from home which is ideal....maybe a bit too handy! I think the event manager may be sick of seeing me in the end! lol!

    Best of luck x

We looked at various venues local to us and some up to 2 hours away. I think it really depends how you want your day to run with local transport links etc. Your cant please everyone so better to book somewhere you love.

I live in Rawtenstall but we're getting married in Hoghton, Preston at Beeston Manor. I love the venue and it took a lot of looking round to find it! A close second was Bartle Hall, also Preston. There's quite a few venues around Preston which isn't far from Blackpool.

I fell in love with a venue and before I saw it I felt certain it would be the one I would choose. Turned out it was a close second but something else was actually better.

I looked at venues in my area because I didn't want to travel or spend extra money on accommodation. A lot of the family and friends are spread all over the place so I didn't need to pick somewhere local to make it easier for them.

Find out how much your venue will roughly cost, go see it and find out what deals they can offer, that is the only way you will know if it's right.

Definitely go and see it in "real life"... We have been to see 2 venues in particular that I loved on the website, but looked very different (not bad differnet, just not what we wanted).

    Looks lovely though
