Long or short BM dresses? Flash me urs please!

Sarah-March-2013, 28 March, 2012 at 21:50 Posted on Planning 0 28

I've looked on and off since we booked the wedding and haven't seen anything "perfect" yet, although we are going to go shopping one day.

I need ivory or dusky pink but let me see any colour Smiley smile

Also, are yours long or short? My dress is long and FG dresses are knee length. Can't decide if long or knee length would be better for BMs?

I dont have any to plash at the moment as there has been a last minute change for me. My personal preference is shorter ones for BM's. For me they look more natural and summery rather than stufy and formal, and make it much more likely that they would be worn again.

My personal preference is also short for BMs. These are mine (it's a photo of someone selling it online - don't have a pic of my girls yet):

I'm a little annoyed because the official photo shows the flowers on the straps going right up to the shoulder, so I've had to order extra flowers cos I don't like the bit of bare strap at the top.

I like both depending on style. Just not a fan of shiny bridesmaid dresses. These are mine....

I've gone for long ones - these are Alfred Angelo - the colour (claret) is nothing like it shows on screen.

I had knee length for mine; we didn't find anything long that they all liked.

These are ours, was originally going with a sage green colour, but unfortunately the coast dresses didn't fit one of my BM's.

We had this debate as I wasn't set either way. We have gone long as they it made them stand out with BM dresses without them being overly formal or Bridesmaidy which dosen't suit my wedding. Also it was the one they all liked

I am MOH for my friend in 2013 and I have a long dress while the others have short as they are skinnier than me and I prefer a long dress.

These are mine, but in Royal Blue

I'm having short, just above the knee. I chose these as I'm fairly young for a bride and all my bridesmaids are too and long ones just seemed too formal and grown up for us!! They also will feel much more comfortable and relaxed in short dresses: easier to dance in etc!

We went for long dresses as that is what the bridesmaids chose. Having worn both long and short as a bridesmaid myself, I didn't have any preference.

These are my lovely BM's Smiley smile My wedding is very small and is an English Tea Party Theme Smiley smile

They gonna have a belt/shash and flowers in there hair. Also will have to get them some underslips or something as they are very thin material.

Oooh I'm excited about this thread as my BM's dress came in the shop last week (very early I know) so we went for a peek at it today Smiley smile

Here's a flash (excuse the picture, its from my rubbish blackberry camera and the lighting was dodgy):

I like a mixture of both, i wanted my younger two of the older bridesmaids (20 and 18) to have knee length and my older two to have long but they all said they would prefer long so thats what i think were going for. x

    Hi katiej87

They are from the True Bridesmaids/Prom range . The shop i got them from is Georgina Scott Bridal, Stourbridge, West Midlands . I've got two bridesmaids both the same age but totally different body shapes and when they tried these on we knew that this dress suited them both ?

I asked my bridesmaids what they wanted and as one was 18 and the other 12 we needed something that suits both of them. We'll probably go for this one but in a light blue, it has satin underneath and a chiffon layer so it looks really flowing.
