Make up question

Eyelashes to be more specific. Are any of you wearing false eyelashes? And/or recommend me a mascara!

If you are going to go for lashes I recommended getting the individual ones put on at a salon. If you already have lots of eyelashes (I do) I find have a half-set, one extension on every other lash gives a lovely fullness and flutter. On every lash is good for if your lashes are less densely packed, but looks too much for me.

Another cheaper idea is to use a few eyelure eyelash bulbs/clumps. They are little sets of about 4/5 lashes that you glue onto your own. It's quite simple but your make up lady would do them for you too.

Personally I wouldn't wear strip-lashes as a bride. Especially as I've seen your wedding makeup (which is beautiful) and heavy strip lashes would look too much.

Regarding mascara, it's hard to know without know your lash type. I have quite a lot of fine but long lashes, My favourites are max factor false lash effect, and maybelline lash stiletto, or a clinique on I can remember the name of!! I'd go to a couple of counters to have a try. It's rubbish buying a mascara, getting home to try it and realising it does nothing for your type of lashes!

I'm using the individual nouveaux lashes put on in salons, as recommended by spangler et al.

I did a google search for local salons that did them and found one offering them at half price, had them done for my hen weekend as a trial and really liked them so getting the same for the wedding.

This happened to me! Everyone was raving about Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara on here so I went and bought one and think it's rubbish, the one I was already using is better, so stuck with a brand new mascara that does nothing to my lashes!

It's funny how make-up works differently for us all!

Have you ever tried getting your eyelashed permed? I love mine done like this, makes your lashes look really long!

I have had individual lashes put on in the past, but they totally ruined my own lashes. Your lashes end up pretty short afterwards. If your ok with that though, they are great and look amazing.

If you have lash extensions removed professionally where they dissolve the glue, or opt for the express glue that lasts up to two weeks, your lashes should be fine.

Picking the glue or lashes will damaged them. As will continuous wear of the extensions. If you keep going back for infills after 4 weeks for months and months, you own lashes do get a bit weakened and thin. But they will recover. The eyelash growth cycle is apporximately 6-8 weeks, so any damage from picking/twiddling will have gone by then.

If the extensions are a one off, your natural lashes should be absolutely fine.

Thanks all. I think those small groups of lashes you were talking about Ducky won't be any good as I have decided to do my own make up & don't want the faff! I will price up the individual semi perm ones.

Ha, just bought MF false lash effect. Not tried it yet. Did manage to blag a trial size of an Estée Lauder one whilst repurchasing my foundation.

What about just getting some temporary glue on lashes, they are easy enough to put on.

I asked about mascara on OT a while back and a lot of people recommended Dior Show - I bought the waterproof one and it's fabulous.

OTOH, I don't recommend L'Oreal's Lash Architect - it was dry, hard to apply and left me with spidery lashes.

PS - hope you aren't peeking at your good luck thread! ?

I am yet to experience Doirshow, though it is certainly on my to do list. Not peeked yet but it is blumin hard!

Pink One, I have strip glue on lashed which I love but it takes me ages to put on and think they look a bit much. Though you can get ones just for the outside might try that.

I had my makeup trial yesterday and she gave me individual fake lashes. It looked amazing and transformed my eyes.

I had the individual clusters applied to the corners of my eyes and it looked great. I had individual lashes done first but as I don't have a lot of lashes they still looked sparse so decided on clusters. They were a lot cheaper too and stayed on a few days despite only supposed to last day.
