Maldives - July

sachar, 10 October, 2011 at 13:32 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 15

Hi peeps,

I must admit, I am much more of a lurker in the background rather than a poster, but I had to share this with you all. We booked our honeymoon yesterday! Yipppppeeeee.

We are going to the Maldives for 12 nights in July and can’t wait. More excited about the holiday I think. Hehe.

We know we are taking a gamble with the weather, but it’s the only time we can get off and hey, im sure it’ll be wonderful whatever the weather!

xxxx

We are going to Kuredu for two weeks. I got quotes for a couple of islands but this one appealed as it was bigger than some but still beautiful. I have a friend who went last year and said it was out of this world. I think we're more excited about the holiday than the wedding!

Hi all. We booked with Hayes and Jarvis in the end. I used to be a travel agent so made sure I called everyone! Kuoni was most expensive and for what we wanted Jacuzzi beach villa for 12 nights and direct flights was 4700. Ouch. Hurts to say it. Still, only live once!! Let me know how you get on and what you decide on xx

We booked a Kuoni honeymoon through Tropical Warehouse which was £500 cheaper than the Kuoni list price.

That sounds familiar!! Kuoni wanted 700 more for the same trip. Ridiculous. I wad worried about booking through a smaller company though as I didn't want to chance them going bust before we went. I know we would have been covered and got a refund, but didn't want to chance having to rebook and faff about. At least with Hayes and Jarvis being part of tui now we are as safe as booking with any other big company. I get frightened that it would happen as did with kosmar a couple of years back and we wouldn't be able to go... Oh my. I'm such a worrier!!xx

Well, we went to the travel agents on Saturday and we have now decided to go to the Maldives in November and have a minimoon just after the wedding. I have found a lovely cottage in the Highlands with sauna and hot tub in the cottage Smiley smile

Don´t worry about the weather in July - we´ve only been to the Maldives in the rainy season and always had a great time. It tends to rain at night and even if it does rain in the day it usually only lasts for an hour max and then the sun comes out and dries everything out again. Besides, if it does rain it´s a good excuse to do other stuff - head back to your room ;-), go for a massage or hit the bar or gym. I´m sure you´ll love it whatever the weather!

We got back from Meeru last week. Had a fantastic time. It rained every day except 1 but was still fab!

We paid for a water villa but got upgraded to a jacuzzi water villa.

You will have an amazing time!

The Maldives is amazing, we went to Iru Fushi on hol last year and it was fabulous. Would love to go back but the world's a big place and we like to travel to different places. You will absolutely love it.
