Out of interest when did all the OM's start to have a family, did you try to plan it after the wedding etc. was it straight after getting married or did you try to leave it a few months.

We started trying on our wedding night. 18 months on and we're *still* trying!

We'd planned to leave it about 18 months or so to start trying, but we both got a bit impatient! So I was about a month and a half pregnant on our 1st anniversary.

Nah we'll be a while yet.

Being married has made me feel much more open to the idea of kids though. It was weird - a bit like a switch.

We will be waiting at least another year (maybe more) before starting treatment. Too much we want to do in the meantime!

We bought our house with my mum and agree to sell it on 3 and a half years from now. Until then we can't have a baby as we can't afford to and we have no space!

After that I would like to wait a year so we can go on a grown up holiday, be able to just be husband and wife for a while before we are mummy and daddy.

H wants children a lot quicker than me, his dad was 17 when he had him and they got on great so wants to be a younger dad. He wants two before we are 30 (given that everything is okay with both of us and we can conceive okay) we are 22 and 23 just now so we have ages. He gets broodier than me!!

Im a bit more reserved about it as I worry about everything so see all the negatives to things and all the problems that we could face.

We wanted some 'us' time first. It'll be time we'll never, ever get back even once our family (should we be lucky enough to have one) are all grown up so I don't see a need to rush things. Besides, I figure I'll be a better mum once I've learnt to ski. Obviously.

We have been married just over a year and we've been actively trying for a few months it's difficult as H works away alot but hopefully we'll get there one day. I'm 32 but I try not to think about my biological clock ticking, if we are fortunate enough to have kids whether that be now or when I'm in my 40's I'll be over the moon.

We had finished popping sprogs out before we were married. Our youngest was nearly 5 months old when we got Hitched.

We'd been together a couple of months when we decided to start TTC. 6 months later we got our BFP, then we got our house, then thought we might aswell get married. ?

No more small people for us. I wanted to be finished adding to the population before I hit 30, especially as H is 10 years older than me.

We've been married since June and are currently enjoying 'us' time as husband and wife. I turned 27 last week and H is 28 and I'd definitely love a child before I'm 30. We will probably start trying this time next year after we've had one last blowout holiday just the 2 of us.

We decided over a year ago that we'd start trying as soon as we got married. It wasn't really a formal sit down decision, just something that evolved. We've been together 6 years, settled in our jobs and owned our house for 4 years so there was really nothing else left to "achieve" before we started trying.

Got married in August and we're trying now. Although I'll be over the moon if and when it happens, we're trying to remain fairly relaxed about it in the meantime.

I'm in two minds about this really. I'm really broody at the moment as I have quite a few pregnant friends, including my best friend. I can't help worrying about how long it will take to fall pregnant, despite their good luck.

However, there's quite a few things that we want to do in the next 12 months (new house, uni courses, holidays, more Grand Prixs abroad), and I can't help feeling that delaying being pregnant will help do these!

We considered waiting a year after we got married but then we have friends who have taken years and years to get pregnant, so we decided not to wait and just see how it goes. Luckily we got pregnant whilst on honeymoon ?

We get married next October and although I intend on taking my implant out at the beginning of next year (as it's having a few undesirable side effects, namely I have no sex drive, but anyway, I digress), we shan't stop using other methods of protection until honeymoon.

However if I have a Crohn's flare at all, we'll have to hold off until it goes away so we can't really put a definite time on it.

We started trying as soon as we were back from the honeymoon. In an ideal world I'd have met my H earlier and we'd have had a bit more newly married couple time before having children, but given my age and potential fertility issues I wanted to try ASAP post wedding.

The sensible side of us will wait till I have a permanent job so I can get maternity leave. Being really sensible I'd like to own a house first. The non-sensible side of us wants a baby now! I'm so broody it's ridiculous.

We're just coming up to our first anniversary (squee!) and haven't started trying yet. I think we'll leave it at least one more year before thinking about it, and possibly a bit longer, depending on my exact job plan at the time, but not more than two more years, I don't think. My parents would like us to get started sooner, but they're just going to have to wait!

Get married next August and currently in two minds.

One part is that I'm very broody and could probably convince OH to start trying on honeymoon.

Then there is the other part that thinks I could wait 18,onths, get a house, be on the home stretch of a DTLLS/Pgce and have a bit of time to us before we start trying. We're relatively young (23&26) so could afford that time.

I think we'll wait and see how we feel and what finances are like closer to the wedding.

I wasn't sure about whether I ever wanted children, my H did, but was prepared to live without. Like Kharv said, the wedding was like a switch. Before the wedding, in the months leading up to it, I began to realise that I did want children in my future, but something changed when we got married...broodiness overdrive! I'm 24 and H is 34, so he was ready as soon as I said I was, we are in our third month of trying.
