well, it's nearly 4 months to go and very nearly time to say "we're getting married this year"

how are you all getting on? We've nearly all done, just got the final numbers to give, the table plan to organise and finish paying off these little bits... Then relax, hopefully.

I can't believe that in 11 days we will be able to say we are getting married this year!

I'm getting married on 17th May 2015 in Crete, but get legally married in the UK 4 months tomorrow!

Yes, very excited about being able to say I am getting married this year in just over a week!

As we are getting married abroad, we have a planner so she has sorted out most things already...and dress has been ordered, guests have been invited and RSVP'd already...so just focusing on getting my body to look how I want!

It's been a week of good/bad.

Good: Invitations are finally sorted and we both love them. We should be able to pick them up from the printer early next week, and I've already done the address labels so on track to post them in good time for the RSVP date of 14th March. I've set up the wedding website with lots of info for out of town guests, booked my hairdresser, and got the ball rolling on the photo booth. We booked the hotel for the night of the wedding and the first hotel of our honeymoon, which looks gorgeous. Finally got h2b into a Moss Bros to look at suits, although we still need to make a proper appointment for him to try them on and choose a style. I've also been looking online at BM/MOB/MOG gifts, and have a good idea what I'll purchase for them.

Bad: My brother split with his GF of 5 years, meaning that she and her teen daughter will no longer be in the wedding. At least I'd only purchased their dresses, and nothing else so far. Still hoping for his sake that they might resolve their issues, so won't be selling the dresses on any time soon. I've still got 2 BMs, my MOH and h2b's sister, so just going to stick with them.

The only "big" things left to sort are h2b's ring, which he wants to go to Birmingham's jewelry quarter to pick (he wants a Russian wedding band or Turkish puzzle ring), and suit hire for the men.

Unfortunately these last items will have to wait a while, because h2b's dear, 99-and-a-half year old grandfather passed away this week. We are headed up to his parents today to help his mum with the arrangements, and of course all thoughts of wedding organisation have to be put aside, for a few weeks at least. It's sad, but we are thankful that he passed away peacefully at home, and as h2b stoically keeps repeating "he had a good innings". Caring for his grandfather was his mum's whole life the past few years, so we are going to have to make a real effort to spend time with her and get her interested and active in new activities this year.

I am feeling very emotional that what was supposed to be the best year has started off on such a bad footing for those I love the most.

I sent our invites out end of October with a reply back date of 6th Feb, we have received a fair few RSVP's back but I know there's a few that we are going to have to chase, it is going quickly now and even my OH has gone from "oh, its ages away" to "OMG its only 15 weeks away" lol..

I haven't yet sent out my invites as we are having a tasting at end of January and want to give the guests a choice of food.

Littleredfairy were are exactly the same. Starting to get a bit anxious though about chasing up RSVPs for menu choices and I've not even sent the invites yet!

Food tasting on Wednesday then we can finalise the website and the invites to hopefully get them out for the end of January.

It is all coming around so quickly!

I had a month off planning in December, and it has all started back up again now

Invites were hand delivered (most of them) this weekend just gone, so I am awaiting my first RSVP! Everyone has said how lovely the invites are which has been lovely considering the effort that went into them!

I am a Flower Girl down, my niece has been withdrawn from duty... they reckon shes too young and will play up on the day... so that's fine by me! One less outfit to buy! (I'm not really a kiddy person)

My next few tasks are sorting church things, like entry and exit music and hymns etc.

Then the task of paying everything off is looming.

Im positive though, and so far... everything seems to be going well....fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear about your h2b's grandad Sambarine. My h2b lost two grandparents last year and it's very sad, no matter the age x

We're 2nd May too - a popular date it seems! I honestly can't believe how quickly it is coming round. I've been very calm up to now, but am getting more stressed as the weekends fill up with activities.

Invites have gone out and we have asked for RSVP's by 21st February.

H2b has booked our surprise honeymoon! I told him to get on with it as I hate flying, so the less I know the better.

H2b tried on a ring for the first time yesterday and we know his size now so just need him to decide what design he'd like. He's going with titanium as he has his hands in water all day.

H2b is now in charge of getting the groomsmen together to sort out the suits. (All of suddenly h2b has got very busy after doing nothing fo months!)

I've got my hair trial next weekend.

My girls are booking my hen weekend- causing tensions between my sis and bf apparently!

Im desperately looking for vases, so if anyone has any suggestions of places to buy them please let me know!

I 'think' I've got the flower girl dresses sorted - just need my niece to approve!

Still so much to do, but getting there. So exciting!

How are us May brides getting on?

9th May here. Bought my dress on Saturday, was dreading it but actually very, very happy with it. Venue, celebrant, photographer, menu choices, invitations sent, bridesmaids dresses & vintage bus, booked hotel rooms for myself, bm's & a couple of close girlie friends the night before & night of wedding, been collecting venue decorating items & vases for centrepieces etc all done.

I keep chasing the venue for the final price (we know roughly what it's going to be) & have given them a £500 deposit but could really do with knowing the bottom line now, i emailed last week to chase, once i have this i will feel a lot better.

Had a couple of rsvp's back so far, last date is 3rd April so time yet.

Need to get shoes & earrings now i have the dress.

Hope all other May'ers are doing well too. Getting really excited now.

Really well actually! The last big job of sorting the suits is now done (just need to get a few of the men meaured up). We're now just awaiting our RSVPs...had a good run and had about a third back in the first week, and then none since really!! grr! We're not inviting loads of guests, and of the approx. 19 couples we're still waiting to RSVP we know for definite at least 12-13 of them are coming (just post the cards people, theyre pre-stamped and addressed and everything!)

We still have to decide on our food choices/seating plan, and sort out the orders of service, I have my hair trial, make up trial, and first dress fitting all on the same day in March which'll be a great chance to see how its all going to come together, bridesmaids dress fitting a few days before mine, and OH has a suit fitting in a month or so, and then a few appointments with people eg photographer, cake lady to finalise things. And I need to make a load more paper pom poms, and maybe fart around with making pretty coathangers - just all the twiddly little bits left really!

i had my hair trial and cried! It was like the dress moment all over again so excited about that.

menu tasting is this weekend - we are trying two and need to choose one.

ive had my first dress fitting and whilst I love the dress and it 'fits' I don't think losing a few lb will go a miss!

Trying to arrange meeting with photographer to discuss photos and see our venue but finding a time is proving difficult.

Hopefully sorting out table numbers and order of service soon as they are driving me mad.

met with vicar who is super lovely and our service is sorted!

May 16 - so threw months today! Still waiting on invites but have my dress, bridesmaids, flower girl, food choices to go into invites. We've also given notice and have sorted photographer , video and centrepieces - though still thinking on DJ...

2nd May here too... 10 weeks, 5 days to go

All RSVP's in and table plan all sorted, having major issues with the table plan and place setting supplier though, she's beginning to really get on my wick now but I'm sure it will all get sorted though.

my 1st dress fitting is booked for 7th March and really looking forward to that

pretty much everything all done now though and just getting together final appointments booked with the suppliers to go through any last ideas/plans for the day.. It's all coming together nicely.

my emotions though are all over the place, one moment I'm crying, then so calm, then stressing and that's all within a 2 hour period lol.. Please tell me I'm not going mad??

Apart from a few little tiny bits of making, that's about it I think!

Hair and make up is in March, nail trial is in March too so really... I am ahead of myself, which is good because I have lots of wedding nightmares and dream that the day just SPRINGS upon me and I'm not ready and nothing is finished. I have had loads of those dreams!

long story short I find myself without a makeup artist and am in a total quandary as to whether to do it myself or pay for another trial that I still might not like. Just don't know what to do.

Bridesmaid dress fitting in Saturday and I'm a bit annoyed that one of my bm' has put on weight and decided it is too low at the front for her so will need a panel or something. She was the only one that fitted last year so was hoping to get away with no alterations for her. Grrrr...

just been told by the school mums that they would like to throw me another hen do so that's nice!

had meeting with venue at weekend and feeling ok about that.

Hi ladies! It's getting rather close now! I'm excited yet quite nervous - all the planning leading up to the BIG DAY! We've just received an email from our venue about our final meeting and sorting out final numbers - it's come around so quickly! I don't think it helped that February just seemed to go by in a flash and now we are almost half way through March! Sometimes it feels far away and the sometimes it doesn't!

All I have left to arrange is final details on flowers, cake, car & center pieces. Waiting for bridesmaid dresses to be delivered! Suits to be tried on/measure for! Go for dress fittings and sort out bridal under garments! I ordered a pair of tan tights a few weeks ago - they would suit if I was an oompa lumpa but I'm not orange in the slightest!!

February did go quickly! I'm still flitting between thinking its ages away and then realising it's probably not! Our planning has been chilled so far and hope the next few months feel the same, we just still have some little bits to sort:

I went to John Lewis to do our wedding list today! Loved going round with the little scanner! Lol!

The money side is stressing me out more than anything now. It seems to be dwindling all the time, though it is pretty much just paying things off now. Trying to stay excited but at this point will be glad when it's over! Sorry for the downer, but I can see where the wedding stress comes in now!

We're all pretty much sorted now, only a little bit left to pay which will get sorted at the end of this month, I missed the postie yesterday which I know was to deliver our table plan and re-delivery now booked for Saturday so can't wait to see that even though one of my sons has now asked to bring along a friend... grrrr We've decided not to have the table plan re-done though, we'll just get another place setting made and let them know (verbally) which table they'll be sat at.

We met with the TOG and VOG on Sunday at the venue for the final meeting and to have our pre-wedding shoot (pic attached)

I had my 1st fitting on Saturday which went really well.

As you all, time is now flying by so quickly it'll soon be here
