More shopping stuff - dresses/ handbags

OK I really want this handbag:

but it's expensive (£150). I am trying to justify raiding the savings by saying I will re-wear dresses I already own to weddings and then take this lovely bag with me. I have 5 weddings this year and could take it to all, plus I go out a lot and would take it out with me every time I go out. My current 'going out' bag is a little black patent clutch I got in Primark for £2 a couple of years ago. So it would sort of pay for itself, wouldn't it? I did make £50 on e Bay this weekend with an old bike but I spent it on takeaway curry and books ?

I might get a new dress though from Tesco's, which would go with the bag ? and black hat and shoes I have already (which are leather and patent so would go with the bag too!) This is the dress:

What do you think? I'm trying to think of a reason to treat myself, but there aren't any ? I've already wasted loads on getting my teeth done unnecessarily and going back to university. Gah!

If you love it go for it. A black handbag will be a long term investment, particularly one which isn't teeny but isn't huge either. Does that help? Enjoy it ?

I like the dress and I like the bag. But together, for summer weddings, I am not sure. How big is the bag? I think with that dress you might want a bold-coloured bag and shoes - patterned or maybe yellow?

I've remembered I've got a Radley leather laptop bag hidden in a cupboard upstairs, that I never use as I have no need for it. I bought it with a load of xmas and birthday money a few years ago but have never had any call for it really, and certainly don't now. I could probably raise the funds for it that way! I also have a smaller Radley handbag I use for work that I'm not so keen on now but I made H buy it for me for our 'leather' wedding anniversary so can't really flog that ?

I wondered about that Sophie, but with my feet and only two weeks to the wedding there's no chance of finding anything that fits in time. I'll get the dress tomorrow and see what it looks like with the black. I thought it might be a bit much with colours?

Forgot to say, the bag is fairly small... they do a bigger one too. It's A5 sort of size.

I'd go for it. I've paid £100+ for bags that I would only use for certain outfits but if you're going to get value for money - even more reason for purchase!!! What make is the bag

It's from Karen Millen. It's proper leather and evrefink so it will last! ?

I say ye to handbag splurges. It's a cool bag, you'll get loads of use out of it I'm sure. And it'll make me feel better about my indulgence! ?
