People who stand still and on the wrong side of an escalator are annoying.

People that claim it is too expensive and time consuming to eat and cook healthy meals are all incorrect without exception.

So much love for this post. And slightly freaky that I posted something similar at the same time!

If, at the age of 25, you still do not understand the difference between their, there and they're, you should not be allowed to write. Unless, of course, you have learning difficulties.

    Talkin about food-

Consistently feeding a child junk food and contributing to obesity is child abuse and steps should be taken to either educate and stop it, or remove from irresponsible parents

This, completely! A few of us were discussing our meals last week, and one lady said she didn't know what to have for dinner, so I said "I'm having salmon" and she looked at me like I'd just said something foreign, followed by "bloody 'ell, that's posh". Eh, it's just fish...

People who claim to be 'dyslexic' because they are too lazy to look up a word in a dictionary should have one superglued to their (see I know the right one to use!) hand.

(My nephew is genuinely dyslexic so no problem if this is a problem you actually have, it's just idiots I come across at work that think that is an excuse for poor spelling and grammar)

Anyone that uses 'LOL' or a smiley in a work context should receive a disciplinary for unprofessionalism

People who are generally healthy and going more than a couple of stops on the bus should go the hell upstairs, and leave downstairs for those who can't manage the stairs well! I'm not unreasonable, if you have bags of shopping etc stay downstairs, but otherwise you should move over.

I disagree. Processed food IS only part of the underlying problem, which is that (we and) our children are too fat. The projected cost to the NHS, mostly from diabetes but obviously including cardiovascular disease, is almost unthinkable. Some economists are predicting a collapse.

This means that when I look at a lazy Mum shoving McDonalds down her fat kid's neck, I blame her for the loss of medical provision for early Alzheimer's, for the postcode lottery that many find themselves in, for the lack of old age care.

I was under the impression that people that are fit and healthy can get type 2 - it just depends on their genetic background and the above was only true for caucasians.

I also believe that what people drink has a lot to with obsesity but is easily forgotten about.

Finally (the unpopular opinion bit) I think it comes across as being pious going on about healthy eating and lazy polictians attacking obsesity because they won't tackle the problems to do with alcohol and cigarettes.

I agree that feeding your child sh*t until theyre obese is abuse and should be treated as such.

I also disagree with overweight people moaning about being fat if they are constantly eating. With the exception of those with illnesses or health issues its just greed. You do not get to 19 stone just eating salad.

Incorrect spelling and poor use of grammar is inexcusable in this day and age. We have compulsory education until the age of 18 and more technology to enable proofreading and spellchecking than ever before. Issues of dyslexia, etc. aside, there is no valid reason for people to not know the correct usage of their/there/they're or your/you're.

    Text-speak should be banned.

Every school child should be taught at least one foreign language, starting in primary school and continuing until at least GCSE.

Obviously. But I have known people on the receiving end of abuse for parking in a disabled bay because 'clearly they are not disabled' - even though they have a badge...just because their disability isnt obvious to look at them.

I have a huge bug-bear about dummies. Totally hate them. Fine for use at home or with teeny babies when out to get them to sleep, but not past 6months at the most. It looks awful anyway, but on a 2year old it looks REALLY bad. Also not keen on breast feeding to an age when a child can walk up and ask for it, or just rummage in your top to feed. It's not fair on mum, child or father. It's just weird.

I'll have to tell my daughter this - 'Forget the fact that you are really insecure now since your father left, ditch the dummy some people just totally hate them'?

A deaf person shouldn't get a disabled permit for parking. I say this as a partially deaf person!

Grown women should never suck their thumbs. It looks pathetic.

I hate seeing babies drinking tea out of a bottle, and toddlers with dummies.

I also agree that you should not be able to claim benefits if you have never contributed anything in tax, unless you are medically unable to work, which is very different.

Arquard - Whilst I agree with you completely that there is no excuse for poor spelling or grammar, I actually think modern technology is part of the reason for it, not part of the cure. There are so many things that correct your spelling nowadays that people have become lazy, they don't learn to spell because they don't need to, their phone, or PC, or tablet or whatever spells for them so when they are typing in programmes that don't correct spelling mistakes, or handwriting something, they have no idea how to spell it as they have never bothered to learn !

The idea of breast feeding makes me feel ill.

In reference to Peanut's point about commuters moaning about ridiculous train fares, I agree, it's a choice we make. However, I have no problem with what I pay, it's the lack of value for money that annoys me. I am happy to pay my £3136 a year in train fairs, but I expect a train that's not filthy, freezing cold and late most days.

    Oooh flameproof suit time...

    1. Shops should have some sort of grading system for food. So, wide doors at the front with fruit and veg. Stairs or narrow gaps to get to the junk. And fat mothers with fat kids and trolleys full of junk at the checkout should be sent back to try the shopping trip again.

    2. Yes it is your right to be 30 stone, but by exercising that right you also have to accept that if you are ill, you will not be entitled to ambulance transport to hospital. (my back still hurts from Thursday!)

    3. All benefits should be in goods or vouchers

    4. Cars should self destruct if the driver attempts to make a phone call. And yes, that does include hands free. Its not the hands that are distracted, its the brain.

    5. We should welcome immigration as long as the migrants have skills and will pay tax. To counteract overcrowding of the population, those who have no intention of working who are perfectly able to do so, should be deported.

    6. Having a child is not a right. I would support means testing and/or a license system.

    Controversial enough??

Spelling really doesn't matter in the scheme of things. I would take a man that couldn't spell over one that could but instead committed adultery and said he wouldn't support his children when he left.

Wow! Having read through the whole thread the only person who I really disagree with is MummyMoo...........impressive!

I think that methadone should be laced with contraceptive

I think that smokers should be made to pay for private medical insurance to cover the burden they put on the NHS

I think the same for people grossly overweight

I can't quite decide about alcoholics...as they don't really know how to help themselves
