Hmmm... I'm neither a lover nor a hater. I will eat them but I'm not too fussed and wouldn't order them on their own, in say breaded mushroom form. I will eat things with them on. I used to hate them and thought they would taste like a slug would (texture), all slimy.
My husband would say evil. He hates them ever since he saw his gran cook some hand picked ones when he was a child and he saw worms crawling out of them.
Little does he know i put them in his food but finely grating them and he knows no difference.
When I go to a restaurant, OH says: 'Sooo you'll be having the [insert mushroom based starter here] and the [insert mushroom based main]. He is often right.
This. I'm ill if I ever eat anything with them in unknowingly and it's really annoying that often the veggie options are full of mushrooms in restaurants. I've been known to have to request things that aren't on the menu when I've been out - embarrassing!
I hated them when I was younger but started eating them again a few years ago. I like most mushrooms now except shiitake mushrooms, they're soooo rubbery and beefy.
I like them. Ive just had some in my stir fry actually. I had them at lunch too strangely, on ww toast all melty in light philly with lots of black pepper. Thats a coincidence though I wouldn't normally have them twice in one day!
Mmmm thinking about mushrooms now - portabello mushroom grilled whole with baked camembert and garlic butter or mixed mushrooms in a white wine sauce in a pastry casewith baby new spuds and asparagus
Yes! Its been a long while but some very amusing times has been had under the influence. I remember me and my mate being in the loo, and I flushed and she thought the toilet was talking to her and went "What mate?" and lowered her head towards it. haaaaaa.
I used to hate mushrooms but now I love them, especially garlic mushrooms. I do however have a strange memory of my Granny flushing some leftover mushrooms down the toilet once ?
I looooooove mushrooms. Am yet to find a mushroom recipe I don't like. I'm a simple person and my favourite use for mushrooms is to chop and fry them with a full English brekkie. NOM!
