my hen party with flashes

Kalie85, 19 September, 2011 at 15:59 Posted on Planning 0 11

So it was my hen party on Saturday and we went to Cambridge to celebrate in style! We started off doing glee dancing which was hilarious, I would recommend it to everyone. I dont have any photos of that yet though.

We then went to our hotel to check in, have a shower after getting all hot and sweaty and got changed into outfits!

We then headed back into the city for our cocktail making course, and again well worth it, you definately get your moneys worth. We were greeted with a glass of champagne each and a good looking bar man to go with it. He then made us 4 cocktails to try and we all chose which one we wanted to make ourselves. I can tell you now, making cocktails is harder than it looks! So by this point I'd already had 2 cocktails and champagne, and then we were allowed to chose a cocktail each from the bars favourite menu and the bar man made them for us and then we all had a shot. And we had all this alcohol on an empty stomach, D'oh!

We then went downstairs for nibbles, taking our coacktails with us and I was greeted with this monstrosity...

It was a bottle of bubbles bought by my bridesmaid to take with us on our next trip, a guided punt along the river. It was on this trip that we encountered...

a naked punter!!!

Up to this point the whole day had been full of laughs, cheeky innuendos and lots of alcohol, that is until it absolutely chucked it down with rain while we were on the punt. By the end of the tour, we were all soaking, cold and it was getting dark. So our next stop was the restaurant we had booked. As we were eating our meals, the waitress brought over a bottle of champagne saying it was from the groom. As the whole day had been so overwhelming, I just burst into tears because thats not the sort of thing my OH normally does so I was so taken back by the gesture.

my bottle of bubbles!

So after all of this, we went and partied the night away in the nightclub, and I have to say it it was an absolutely amazing day. I wish I could do it all over again!

I admit it, I am a gleek. Its basically dancing to songs from glee. The main song we did was halo/walking on sunshine mix. Much fun and very cheesy!

Shes a sweetheart really but yeah we do need to find something we'll all enjoy. My Mum and CBM (sis) are insisting the hen do is nothing to do with me and I have to keep out of it.

I was in Cambridge on Saturday for my hen do too! Yours looks like lots of fun.

We did a punting treasure hunt and then a chocolate workshop. Love Cambridge!

Omg! We saw quite a few hens out on Saturday! Where did you find the chocolate workshop? I'm a huge chocoholic and wanted to do something like that but couldn't find anything. Did you dress up?

I was going to book it through Scudamores but they were fully booked so we used a lady in Newmarket in the end - she came to us for a couple of hours. It was yummy!

No we didn't dress up. I just had a sash and a balloon!
