My Mum has just gone on a date.

SO cute.

She hasn't been out with a bloke since my Step Dad died in 2006. She met him through her work, and she's been like a giggling school girl for the past week.

She asked me to help her choose an outfit, and help with her make up ?. She didn't even wear make up on her wedding day.

He said he was going to wear a dickie bow, gutted he didn't turn up in one. I wanted to quote Dr Who at him "Bow ties are cool". Hopefully another time.

Pointless post, just so happy for my Mum.

They've gone for lunch. To a place called "The kn0b" ? I was mature and resisted jokes about kn0bs and first dates.

They arranged it last week, hence the week of giggling.

Yep Flow, for real. I got told off by C for saying kn0b ?

I didn't think my Mum would either. Was getting to the point where I was going to put her profile on a dating site.

They've been texting each other since he left, so i'd be shocked if there wasn't.

Luckily, my Mum likes older blokes. If my Step Dad was still alive, he'd be 66 (my Mum is 49), and this new bloke is 69.

Fingers crossed your MIL finds someone.

To all Hitcher Mums out there - I am a similar age to most of you and my H is 8 years younger than me. Nil desperandum.

And many "over 50's" (Grrr) have their own teeth, hair and even MARBLES! Don't write ua off yet!

True. My Dad is 55 and is only missing a few marbles, but that's down to his stroke rather than general age.

My Mums new bloke has his own teeth too, my Mum was very impressed ?.

Older men can be VERY attractive, just look at D!ck Van Dy ke, he's in his 80's, and I totally would (although not sure if he could ?)
