Hi everyone and congratualtions on your upcoming weddings.

Me and my partner have finally set a date for November 26th 2010, so this year. We have been together for 12 years and are both very excited. It will be a small doo. I don't want to much money on the wedding as i would rather spend it on the house and kids etc... We have three by the way. But it will be lovely all the same.

So far i have booked the wedding venue which is also our reception venue. Menu's are done. Invites have been ordered and future hubby has his and our sons kilt booked. Still so much to do though. So i am sure i will be on here all the time asking questions etc...

Gem. x

No problem, have fun trying on! Maybe if you can try on an Alan Hannah gown you will be able to see how beautiful and well made they are Smiley smile

We have also only just started to plan our wedding. Last week infact.

Same here about messaging, it will be nice to have a wedding buddy. ?

So where are you based? Have you sorted your dress yet? I havent had the chance to start looking yet. No shops on the island. I need to try and arrange a trip to the mainland next month to start my search. Not sure what design to go for. I was thinking it might be a good idea to have sleeves due to a late November doo.

I will keep that in mind sweetchicks. Are they easily altered for height? I am only 5'2, so quite small.

I'm based in York. At the moment I'm dieting really hard in the run up to the wedding and so I'm going to leave it a little while yet so I can get the right size. I was thinking sleeves too because of the weather but also because I am so terribly arm-conscious. Reading this forum makes me feel a bit overwhelmed because everyone seems so organized and yet I have this checklist in front of me that doesn't have a single tick! Everything that I have tried to sort out has gone wrong (marriage license put on hold until I get fiances father's birth certificate and now our invitation kits have been lost in the mail). Are you clueless or have you got your plans in hand already? Where are you based? Please let me know what you are up to right now in terms of planning!

Ooo my hubby to be asked me to marry him in York. Smiley smile

We are living in the Isle of Lewis. Have lived here for about 6 years.

I really havent a clue what i'm doing. I looked at a list and like you found it a little much. So i have decided to take it one step at a time.

So far i have booked our wedding and reception at the same place and have just placed a deposit to keep the booking. I have also booked the registra (spelling?) to wed us at the hotel.

Invites have been ordered and i am just waiting on delivery. The menu options have been chosen and will be placed in the invites along with rates for the hotel rooms for guests. We are from Northants, England so all our family still lives there.

I have just decided on my wedding favors, well the style but not colour. I am quite a good cake maker and may even do my own wedding cake. But the favors will be cupcakes placed in a clear box with a ribbon tied. http://www.littlecupcakeboxes.co.uk/ You can see them here, very cheap in my opinion.

Thats it for me so far. So still lots to do. I think the next step is to try and do the rings and dress. But i cant get to the mainland until end of June probably July. I havent a clue what style will suit me. I dont like my upper arms either and i dont imagine goosebumps and red from the cold look is very attractive on your wedding day. So sleeves do sound like a good option. I am actually quite worried about the dress as i will only have a few days to make up my mind and i am so fussy when it comes to clothes, never able to find anything i like.
