Newbie! Is it too soon??

Pinky6, 17 April, 2011 at 17:15 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hiya!

I'm new to this and not quite sure what I'm doing so you might have to bear with me ?

So basically I'm getting married June 2012 and I'm sooo excited and I cant believe I have to wait almost a whole year!! hehe. As I'm far too impatient to wait till closer to the time I went dress shopping with my bridesmaids today as we were all free and due to work etc its hard for us to meet up and I found what I think will be the perfect dresses. I would have got them there and them but the only thing is I think my bridemaids feel like they would be missing out on the whole shopping experience of trying on lots of pretty dresses if i got the 1st ones i found, so I didn't.

Its going to be july time now before we are all free to meet up again and we are going to go to some proper bridal shops next time but I just know how expensive they are and these ones I have found from BHS are so reasonable. I will be so annoyed if I wait till summer and in that time the dresses I like are discontinued or that I can't get hold of them anymore.

So, do I get these dresses now knowing that I could always try sell them if I find something else or wait??

(Sorry for the long message, didnt realised I had rambled so much!!)

I bought mine last April.... have had a few issues with people gaining/losing weight....bvut fingers crossed now we'v visited a seamstress they will be ok for the wedding. it all depends on your BM's....are they likely to stay the same size?

I'm glad i got mine as my colour doesnt seem to be top banana at the moment so if i had left it i would not have anything!

    Hope that helps!

Personally I don't think it is too soon. I also get married June next year, I bought mine last month from M&S online bridesmaid range. I hadn't seen any highstreet store that had the colour that i wanted so bought them, I would have been gutted if they had sold out or discontinued. That's the only thing with Highstreet chains, no warning when they do that.

Hmm good points ladies. I dont think any of them will put on too much weight and the dresses are quite forgiving too.

I think I will speak to the OH when he gets in and see what he says too. As usual he will just nod and smile in the helpful way he does! hehe.

    Thanks for the advice x
