I think your doing fine, may want to look at suits pretty soon and flowers if your having any. Also I have just been contacted by the venue about meeting them in the next few months to go through my day so thats something to keep an eye on specially as it is entering most of there busy months so you dont want to get lost in all the other weddings! I find that I am now looking at all the little things that I need like presents and stuff now all the big stuff is sorted. Hope I have helped

    Hi Racheal,

We've got church (including vicar, organist, choir, banns etc) booked, reception venue booked, dresses for me and BMs, suit hire organised, my shoes, photographer and florist booked. I am making all our stationery so that is a work in progress but i know what i am doing with it so it's kind of arranged too!

All the big stuff with the exception of the band is done, it's now all the fun twiddly bits and thinking about what music we want and the like!

My sister bought us an amazing wedding planner which has loads and loads of checklists and stuff in there which is really helpful - will see if i can find a link to it on web and post it if you are interested! But to be fair, just prowling the forums on here has given me loads fo ideas and inspiration - the ladies on here really know their stuff!!

    Hope that helps!

    Where you getting married?

    Hi

    Im another November bride.

What we have left to do is:

H2B suit to be made, wedding rings to be ordered, dj to be sorted, invites to be made (hopefully sitting down this weekend to design them), and then its all the little bits!

Bound to be more stuff, but just cant remember!!

I have been planning for the last 2 years and it really has flown by!

    Hello Ladies!!

I have taken advice from the wedding show Wedding SOS. The show itself was mildly annoying at times, but she had a giant to do list in a picture frame which we have in our dining area. I thought it would be imposing and scary to look at but OH and me both look at it and choose what job is next. My H2B is a weird one as he likes to be involved..

We have the main bulk of things sorted, Venue,Registrar, Tog, Dress, BM Dress, Suits booked, Flowers, DJ, Transport, Centrepiece stuff, Favour stuff, Wedding night hotel booked, Save the dates sent, Website is live and we have tasted the food at our venue

We still have an exhaustive list to do but its being ticked off slowly. Important things to do in the next 2 weeks are flower girl dress, day invitations and Rings!!

We had an evil flood in our flat which has stolen my attention for the past 2 weeks but hopefully that will be sorted soon, we can get redecorating and replacing and then back in the swing of planning our wedding hoopla!! ?

As for flowers we have a local company who hires out wedding essiantials, flowers, decorates, favors basically anything you want them to do! Has anyone sent out invites yet? I have them just need to send them out now. Still got a big list to work on by the looks of it?!?! Havnt got a clue where to start with gifts either?!?! Thought i was so organised aswell lol Smiley smile

Wow, I love the idea of using a choir for a wedding. That's certainly different from the norm. I am sure it will sound great

The chouir will sing the hymns (helps to avoid it sounding a bit flat if none of our guests know the words to the hymns!) but they could also sing something for the signing of the register if we wanted them to! Not really decided what we want music wise for the signing of the register so may well be a song from the choir. The choir was included in the price of the church hire, so we figured we might as well have them as not!!

I have not even made my invites yet so i'm a long way off sending them out!! The norm is to send the invites 3 months before the wedding requesting RSVPs back 4-6 weeks before the wedding to get your final numbes back to the venue. I think the reason it's so late is to avoid people RSVPing and then changing their mind, but you can send them whenever you like! We sent our Save the Dates out at Christmas and they suggest they only go out 6 months before so we were well early there!!!

We're getting married in Church near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, then a reception at a local pub which has a lovely function room and is gorgeously rustic - lots of beams and fireplaces, which will be lush in November!!

My OH has picked the suits with his Best Man and won't show me cos he wants to surprise me like i'm surprising him with my dress - I didn't think i'd like it but i'm actually surprisingly un-bridezilla about the whole thing and kind of like that i don't have to worry about it! I just gave him some swatches of the colours that we are having and away he went!!!

I'm gettin married on 24th November, we've done all of the big stuff dress, rings, suits, venue, food etc. We are off on holiday in 3 weeks time so that leaves me with lots of time to make the invites and do all the personal bits and bobs. I get the feeling from July until November you won't be able to move for card and ribbons in my house!

    Hi All

We're November too! Got most of the big things sorted, but meeting with florists and hoping to book a band this weekend. Our invitations went out this week because we're getting married in the Lakes so wanted to give people a bit of notice.

Feels like it's coming round really quickly now. We got engaged last September and didn't book the wedding until Jan but it seemed like ages away and too soon to do lots of things then!

I just saw your message on this thread after realising you are my date twin on the RSVP one you just posted! How exciting? And also my engagement and venue booking twin too - lol!

Where are you getting married? Do you feel organised? We sent out our invites a bit earlier with getting married in the Lakes, we wanted people to have chance to book accommodation etc. It felt very real once the invites went out!

Lovely to have a twin! x

We are getting married in Yorkshire but we live in Essex at the mo and most of our guests are travelling, but we have been telling everyone for ages that we are getting wed up north, so hopefully they are prepared!

I can;t wait to get the invites done - meeting with the venue to go through timings this weekend so then i will be able to crack on and print the invite inserts then i just need to make the outsides!!!!

I feel very disorganised - felt very organised a while back but then have been mental busy at work and stuff so haven't really done much for a couple of months and it now all feels like we are really behind and need to get a shift on!!! Have a feeling it may well be panic all the way from now to the wedding!!!

Are you all organised or still got lots to do?

So excited to have a twin - I was beginning to think i was alone!!!

So getting married away from home is another thing we have in common! And I've just read on you previous post on here that you're having a church and a choir and wondering what music to have - we're thinking exactly the same! We have arranged to meet the vicar next month to talk through our options. Seems a shame to be paying for a choir just to sing along with the hymns, but not sure if / what I'd want them to sing whilst we're signing the register. We tend to prefer modern music so don't know where to start. Have you got any further with it?

I'm sure you're not disorganised at all, do you have any more big things to sort out? Once we got the invites done we went on to book our evening band, florist and ordered wedding rings and my jewellery all within the space of a week, so that made a big difference to our to-do list.

My dress arrived at the shop last week also, that was so exciting! Booked in to go and try it on so that I can choose a veil to go with it on 11/8. Have you got dress / veil / shoes / accessories etc? August seems to be filling up with suit and dress fittings and meeting with the vicar, then it will be September and time for my hen do. Where is the time going?!!

I feel excited to have a twin too, feel like I have too many questions to ask you!!

Hi Gracey, sounds like it's all going well! I wish I'd known you can change your name before the wedding before we booked our honeymoon. Never mind, too late now.

We are doing well too, all the major things are boxed off but most still need paying for in full. Had our menu tasting last week and chose what we are having, just need to get the menus and order of services printed and made up now. Still need mirrors and candles to go with our table decorations, and chair bows which I have ordered from eBay but still haven't arrived.

Got our final meeting with the venue on 7th October so need final numbers then. Our RSVP deadline date was today but there are still a few that haven't replied ? mostly night do ones but some day also! What are you doing about yours - are you going to chase people? We really don't want to have to, it's so rude!

Oh and my dress fitting is this Saturday, my hen do is the weekend after - it's all happening - eeeeek! ?

Is it me, or is it coming round really fast!!!!

RSVP deadline is next week! We have already had one person say to us can such and such's girlfriend come along! Let me think about that ........NO! dont even know her name! I find it quite funny that people assume you will be ok if they ask you!

Oh and some of my family are traveling from the NE on the day of the wedding and asked if it was ok to get showered and changed at my parents where I am getting ready! Again a big fat NO!

Aprt from that all goint smoothly!

Tasting session tonight and first dressing fitting next week. Really excited about that!!!

I think I am actually pretty much all done, need to do the bedroom plan and wrap OH present but part from that it's just picking things up the day before left to do. I had brilliant news yesterday, in that my TOG has offered to stay on to take photos of the first dance free of charge ( this works about to be about 3 hours worth of free photography!)

Hope everyone else is getting on well

We're getting there, biggest job left to do is the order of services which went to print yesterday, will need to attach them all together with ribbon once they are printed.

    Other things are:-

    DJ playlist,

    final make up trial

    page boy suit measure

    final meeting with videographer

a couple of presents and thank you cards

finish table plan (have one table with only 7 people at the moment and not sure what to do about it!)

    table name signs

    Paying people

    Pick up veil

    Final dress fitting

    Confetti

I think that's it! It sounds like a lot when looking at the list like that, but we've started a lot of the things they just need finishing!

What is on everyone else's lists? Would be good to compare!

I lost my mojo for a few weeks as people were stressing me out, but getting back on track this week and have got a few more things sorted.

    Eeek, 4 weeks to go!!
