I'm 15th Oct, I didn't realise it'd be such a popular month.

What were everyones reasons for choosing October?

29th October for me too!

I chose October for a few reasons:

1 - I love autumn and October is usually more 'blue sky' cold than 'rainy' cold although I wouldn't mind if it rained

2 - I am having a small wedding so wanted cosy venue with open real fires etc etc. Not really a summery wedding person

3 - It is out of season so it has saved us LOTS of money, even if it is only because our venue does not want its usual minimum numbers

4 - Wedding, then a few weeks of honeymoon means not too far from Xmas and the end of the year (I love Xmas) so it will be a nice few months

5 - I really wanted fireworks / sparklers so getting darker at night at this time of year means you can have these earlier

I chose October because i wanted to use darker colours AND it was off season and things would be a little cheaper!

We are getting married on the 22nd october 2011.

Wow lots of us! We chose October because the venue we wanted had that date free and it meant that we could get married in 2011 rather than 2012 and was also nearly two grand cheaper!!

1st for us.

I asked the question and then didn't explain why I chose October! I wanted a December wedding originally but my Mum doesn't like the cold, so I compromised with October. I'm glad I didn't choose December now though after all the snow wedding horror stories I saw this year with guests and suppliers not being able to get to weddings. October was also cheaper at our venue as well, they consider December to be peak time.

Haven't found a date twin yet! I'm 28th October

It was the earliest we could get our venue on a Saturday in 2011.

I'm the 15th October.

It would have been my mums birthday, so it's my way of remembering her on the day.

I'm the 1st Oct

Both me and OH work with computers and 011011 is kind of binary like, which appealed. We also love Autumn, it's our favourite season.

Also, OH's sister works in the Touristism industry in Wales, so if we'd held the wedding in Summer, she probably wouldn't have been able to get the time off and attend. Plus, being October it's a little cheaper!

Oh I am the 11th October as well

I feel like i am a bit behind, i only have venue, caterer and bridesmaid dreses so far eeeek!

Ours is 1st as well...we chose this date because my bday is 9th Oct and I didnt wanna get married after my bday or only one day before...so 1st Oct was the best for us!

same as others, we love autumn and october can be gorgeous weather wise, tho if it does rain theres nothing i can do so i cant let it stress me x

@Stupidlamb - yep we're quintets now!! I have venue, caterers, dress, bridesmaids dresses and tog, so haven't really got much to do for now. We're looking at honeymoons at the moment though. Thinking of spending a few days on the Amalfi coast of Italy and then maybe a couple of other places in Europe too.

OH is a teacher so we needed a date near a school holiday. We wanted to get married in 2011 but the summer seemed too soon, 2012 was too far away so October was kinda in the middle!

We have got venue, registrar booked, dress, bridesmaid dresses, tog, flowers, centerpieces... Next on list is the mens suits and invitations.

Felt like i was rather behind until reading that back, quite a bit sorted! ?

Our wedding is booked for the 25th october in las vegas ?

I wanted to get married September but the venue didn't have any september dates left. So it was a choice between 1st October and 22nd and as my bday is on the 1st didn't want to have it on that day so 22nd it is!

Another 8th October bride here. V excited as I finally found and ordered my dress today :-)

I'm the 29th October 2011. Can't wait. The ticker seems to be counting down so fast, must get myself organised.

We're 22nd.

We wanted to go on a Norwegian cruise for our honeymoon and see the Northern Lights, so we chose the date as it's the Saturday before the new moon when the sky is darkest and we'll stand the best chance of seeing any Aurorae. And we had to wait till 2011 as 2010 was a quiet year for sun activity which causes the lights.

Anyone still awake after reading that?

Judeclarke, I think that's the most original reason for a date choice I've heard so far! I love it!
