October 2012 brides - how is the planning going?

Gah- I keep missing loads of this thread as I'm not getting the chance to come on Hitched everyday, I'm missing out! I want to share the excitement!!

Love your ring Natalie, it's very sparkly! Erm...I've just read so much, I can't remember what I else I needed/wanted to comment on- I'm sorry if I've ignored anybody's problems or anything, it's not intentional.

Ladyworm- I hope you are much happier with your hair this morning and I think 100% you are right to not get involved in your PIL's disagreement. They'll sort it out.

I had my cut and colour last night, today I'm going to pick up my dress (eeeek!) then coming home to pack for mini-moon, set up the sweetie buffet and box it all up and clean the house within an inch of it's life ready for our pre-wedding guests coming to stay from Wednesday. Last day at work on Monday- thank goodness!

It's all getting very very real now ladies- how are you all feeling? People keep asking me if I am nervous but I'm really really not- well not about the marriage anyway, a bit anxious about all the logistics and hoping everything comes together as planned but just excited about actually being married!

Dont blame you at all its so difficult when its about your wedding but not your family....yet. Hopefully they will have it sorted soon for you x

It is getting very very real now. I posted a thread last night explaining why I think getting this close is effecting me soooo much. H2b started his new job today and Im a nervous wreck here without him lol. So bad. Today though its a very weddingy day too so at least it will be nice

Today has been an amazing day! OHs parents just dropped round our wedding gift. A cheque for £1000!! OH got a letter from student loan company to say its now not only been paid off but he has overpaid by about £750 so we're due a refund. And the best news of all, my mum is coming to the wedding! They can't fit her in to the hospital early like they wanted and its going to be a real struggle for her but she's coming!!!!!!!

I just decided to try my dress on again and practise sitting down in it! It's amazing I took some photos so might flash them Monday when I'm bank at work. Hitched need to make an iPhone app so you can flash! Xxx

Arrrggh Natalie. You can't make us wait! I want to see the flash. I've managed to flash from the iPhone before by uploading to photobucket first and copying the link. You could try that?

Lee I am soooooo pleased for you, that really is the best news, I bet your Mum is chuffed to bits isn't she?! And also what a fab pressie from the in laws too!

Oooh, actually I've got a flash too as OH and I have spent this evening putting together the sweetie buffet, we've covered it all with cling film and tin foil so fingers crossed that the sweets will stay nice and fresh in time for next week. We finally booked our honeymoon yesterday, was getting anxious that we'd end up staying at home but OH came through brilliantly in the end. Week in a fancy hotel in Mexico, just me and my new husband - I can't wait!

Picked up the dress, traffic wasn't too bad and ended up sitting outside for 45 mins waiting for the shop to open. It's now hanging in the spare room and I'm praying that my little kittie cats don't do their double team effort to get in there and scratch my dress to bits (one jumps from the bannister onto the handle with the other one pushes the door open ?). I'm currently bribing them to stay downstairs with treats before we pack up their suitcases later today and take them off to their aunties house for their first ever holiday!

Hey all, didnt get to try my dress on yesterday as I wasnt too well. We did get the flowers for my bouquet though ehich has been finished today. Im so happy with it Im trying my dress tonight so may be able to do a flash of some sort tonight eep! xxx

Ahhhhhhhh I am getting so excited!!! We started making our place cards last night and I'm so impressed at how easy it is.

The only downer for me is that a few of our guests have dropped out (for legitimate reasons) which has taken our already small wedding down to under 30 people, and now I'm panicking about table plans.

But on the plus side, I'm getting married THIS MONTH ? and looking forward to some last minute dress flashes from you all ?

Sorry I didn't come back at the weekend to flash my table plan. I was a bit peeved, because I'd spent 4 1/2 hours making it, only to be told that someone wasn't bringing her child to the wedding. I don't want to re-do the plan so am keeping her on it! If she doesn't come, fine, but I'm not taking her off!

What material is it? Has youw got a bustle? I had my final dress fitting and picked my dress up yesterday.. scary! Mine has a train similar to yours without a bustle so just hoping I don't get trodden on all day/night!

Thanks! I just had to Google what a bustle is ha ha never heard of it before! No mine doesn't have that but I have quite a large hoop skirt under it.

Mine is huge, I tread on the back myself so it's going to be a nightmare! It does have ribbons inside that you can tie together and it hooks the skirt up at the back so it doesn't get in the way for the evening, but there's still loads of skirt there even with that ha ha! I think I'm going to use the ribbon at the back of the train (which is used for hanging it) and loop it round my wrist to hold the skirt in the evening. I was practising sitting down and God knows how my dad and OH are going to fit next to me at the table! ha ha!

The train doesn't look that long in the photos but when you try and walk it becomes a very different story!

I have no hoop or petticoat so sitting down shouldn't be too bad.. hopefully!

Still think dancing may be a bit of a pain though so thinking of having a back up dress for the evening just in case!

I love my dress so much there is no way I would get another dress for the evening, I want to wear it as long as possible! I'll just cope with it ha ha! My flower girl is 18 months and went to a wedding last month, she thinks it's a game to try and stand on the train! So she needs to be watched at all times lol xx

You're all gonna have to wait until after the wedding to see my dress ;-) But that's mainly because I don't have a picture Still, not long to wait now!!

Yes I know what you mean! I think I would feel a bit 'humph' changing from my dress in to another dress so may stick with you on this one and manage! haha

I have come to the comclusion that come the evenging my dress will probably be completely trashed but hey ho, it all shows that a good time has been had!
