October 2012 brides - how is the planning going?

And now the hotel we're staying in before we fly out on honeymoon has called to say we can't stay there as the owner has had a terrible accident!

I do feel for her, I really do. But I can't help but think oh crap! :-( Found a few alternative hotels on booking.com though, that I'll run past the OH tonight.

All will be fine on the day. Best get the problems out the way before the day rather than on the day xx

Sorry haven't been around today ladies, OH came home last night and we viewed some houses today and put down a deposit on one! Only renting but it's our first house together and I am so excited!

We move in 2 days after we get married! So exciting its got brand new bathroom kitchen n carpets throughout really well kept and modern. I'm so excited!!!

Get married in 16 days and I'm glad to say its all sorted. All i need to do it take my favours name cards etc up the venue a week before the wedding. Getting so excited but unbelievably nervous about walking down the isle (we booked a big church eeeek)

I'm just about to sign off ladies but wanted to say Goodbye to all of you on our little thread too, for my date twins- have a fabulous day all of you and to all the brides getting married in the next weeks whilst I'm away- hope your days are amazing too.

9 days to go for me! Finally in single figures!! And 2 weeks today til we move into our first house!! (we had to put the date back)

We've had 4 people drop out today!! ☹️ it just feels like such a waste of money as the food and drink is already paid for. Not sure if there's anyone else we could pick out of the evening people to bump up! xx

We haven't even given final numbers to the venue yet (meeting with venue tomorrow) so have to double check with everyone tonight!

We are really last minute with everything.. not good!

The annoying thing is I only confirmed last week! Not a single person had dropped out in the months since we sent the invites so thought we would be fine!!

It's really annoyed me, I know it's not peoples fault, but just makes me think, at nearly £60 a head thats nearly £240 wasted, and we are still really tight on money so I wish I'd known before! What a waste ☹️ xxx

I know how you feel! We are really tight on money at the minute so anyone dropping out so close would be frustrating.

I'm sure there will be evening guests that would be delighted to 'bump up'. Do any guests spring to mind that you would have really liked to have with you all day but just didn't have the budget/ capacity? xx

I don't really know who we can bump up! I have a good friend at work and her husband, but then couldn't choose out of the other work people to bump up with them, and on their own they won't know a single person there! We only have 30 coming to the evening as all our close friends came to the whole day. There's not anybody standing out that I could bump up, we will have to have a think! xx

Or, invite no one else.. you and Hubby can have 4 times food and drink than everyone else!! hehe

If it makes you feel any better our wedding is 3 weeks tomorrow and OH still doesn't have suit, we haven't comfirmed numbers, we haven't chosen music... and a million and 1 other things!

OH has been messed around SO much with jobs this year that he has lost the last 2 months pay which has put us way behind. I just keep taking deep breaths and telling myself that all the important legal bits are done so at least we will be married and everything else coming together will be a bonus! xx

I keep trying to tell myself it's all going to be OK too... but we're £160 short with 9 days to go, I already had to borrow money to pay our rent deposit on our house and can't really borrow much more! I do mobile hairdressing on the side and have a bit booked in but the money I get from that's got to cover petrol to get to and from work for the next week, and we've still got to pay for OH's eurotunnel crossing next Friday and his petrol to drive back from Germany... think the words absolutely buggered pretty much sums us up!! xxx

Yay h2b suit arrived today, the trousers are a bit big but nothing a belt wont help with ? just so relieved as i was worried it would't turn up as i ordered it offline.

We are approximately £4000 down over the last 2 months with OH not recieving any wages despite working (company are a bunch of clowns and completely took the Michael!)

We are having to go without something and it has really upset me but at the end of the day the fact we are getting married is the most important thing and knowing we can get through tough times like this is the whole reason we are getting married!

OH has just phoned to say he has been measured for suits today and has paid deposit! Need to get dad's and Best Man there for suit fittings for balance to be paid Thursday before the wedding.

We have a couple of cheques that we are needing before we really start paying for final things that aren't going to clear until next week so everything is a little slow but we will get there

I keep taking a deep breath and remembering the reason we are getting married rather than worrying that I can't have X/Y/Z that we had planned due to finances xx

So, tomorrow we get our first October OM's - how exciting!

Got to finish placecards this weekend. Half of the stuff is printed, but there is some cutting and sticking involved so it will take ages!

Tonight I have been making a list of the sort of music we want for the DJ to play. Actual ceremony music is sorted, although H2B now not sure he wants us to walk down the aisle as Man and Wife to the Superman theme as he fears it may be cheesy. I don't think it is, but i am not sure if he/we can come up with something better?

Eurgh Im so hungover its not funny *but it really is* ?

Hen and stag do was last night, we had an 80's theme so lots of silly mullet wigs, mine was a neon pink 80s glam rock wig. Had so much fun and it really hit us that yesterday left only 2 weeks until the wedding.

Today I feel totally on top of things - Just made and ordered our Order of The Day cards and some "reserved" cards on Vistaprint. Plus got a few freebies as well. I have been waiting ages to get one of their 7 day free shipping offers, so glad it came through in my email today!

Got to do some cutting and sticking with the placecards later, and then I will feel like I have only a few things left to do! Like the Guestbook. So far I have a blank (black paper) book and a bit of an idea, but that's as far as it's got!
