October 2012 brides - how is the planning going?

Unless you get a wrap in your wedding colour that you can use again?

I go back and forth on a shrug. I really don't like being chilly but my dress is quite simple and I don't want a shrug that changes the whole look of it.

Got a bit of a fright this morning- we're now into the "teens" 19 days to go!

I can't believe how quickly these last few weeks are passing by.

We had a very productive weekend and I now feel much better, the list as of this morning:

- Pay Venue

- Pay Flowers & Confirm Delivery Details

- Pack for Minimoon

- Pack Overnight Bag for Venue

- Put together Sweetie Buffet & Take a photo for the venue to copy

- Wrap OH's Pressie

- Collect Dress

- Collect Suits

- Wear in Shoes

And then it's just last minute bits and bobs like delivering the decorations to the venue, doing a big clean at home and going to the waxing and nails appointments.

Yesterday OH finally sat down and wrote his speech too so I think we're doing well. Getting really really excited now!

How are you all getting on now with the final plans and preparations?

Hoo-bloody-ray, I think I have finally sorted my centrepieces! I am just testing a tealight in one of my glass holders (small drinking glasses, pack of 4 for 99p Tesco Value) to check it doesn't get too hot etc and then I will be almost there. I hope. I have got some mirror plates on the way from eBay. Once they arrive I will flash!

Re:shrug etc. I may get something I saw on eBay, but as yet not sure. Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I reckon I can brave any coldness.

As far as everything else goes, it's all getting there. Hen Do this weekend which I've organised and have final touches to sort for that and then it's full steam ahead with table plan, place cards, order of the da and other DiY things. H2B is going away for work ooh so will use my lonely nights to crack on. In one ways it seems like I have plenty of time. Although it actually feels pretty close and I am wondering when panic sets in?

It is coming around very quickly indeed!! I can’t believe it’s now under a month! It sounds crazy – when did it get here??

I had my hen do this weekend! It was absolutely amazing, the girls did me proud!! They turned up all wearing black vest tops with ‘Nat’s Hen Do 2012’ in diamante’s and they’d ordered a white and pink one for me, they had 30 helium balloons with them and a bottle of personalized wine and loads of dress up goodies!

We went to the Adonis show at Oceana in Brighton and (oh my god!!) it was amazing! Loved the show and I had to get up on stage 4 times! Then danced the night away, it truly was one of the best weekends of my life

Wedding planning wise… wedding rings are coming on Wednesday!! I so can’t wait, it’s been months since we ordered them! I ordered our confetti last week so that should come this week, I get to pick my wedding dress up on Saturday too! So I’ll spend most of Saturday just staring at it And we are going to pay the balance on our flowers this weekend.

I’m not wearing a shrug, I’ve never been a fan of them at weddings and I’m hoping that the weathers nice enough not to need anything! I’ll just grin and bear it whatever the weather though xxxx

I have a long sleeved blue shrug - I was't sure but putting it on with my dress I love it and might wear it for more than just the evening

Im not having a shrug either which kind of worries me but a bit late now haha. We are trying to find a new first dance song and h2b has just suggested euphoria that song that won the bloody eurovision I may have to hit him. Only the wedding favours to arrange, just paying off everything else. not long now

I understand how you feel. You could use the shrug only when outside, travelling in the car etc.... Sure you'll make the right decision for you ?

And yes, everyone...... It is getting very close very quickly!

We made our playlist for the reception yesterday, and my parents came round to go through all the little things, like where people will sit in church, how are the buttonholes going to get from OH's parent's house to our house to the church. I'm even starting to realise the honeymoon is not far away either (we're having two weeks in America and leaving 2 days after the wedding).

Isnt it a strange feeling, having been planning for months it's now days away!

Think I'll start getting excited now!!

He is now dancing around the living room to mr loverman ..... no words

I know and then soon it will all be over... I think I need to be a wedding planner, I don't want to have to stop looking at wedding things online yet!!

Your honeymoon sounds amazing! I'm jealous ?

We have asked for money as wedding gifts so are hoping to get a last minute week somewhere hot... I hate not knowing if we'll be able to do it or not as I can't get excited about a honeymoon we may not be able to have! So I don't have any holiday clothes and I can't find any of my old bikini's, god knows what I'll do.

Just wanted to ask some advice about the flowers... I live with my parents still and we are having the flowers delivered on the morning of my wedding... what do I do about the mothers thank you bouquets? I really wanted it to be a suprise for my mum as I'm sure she'll think I haven't thought about doing it, but they will turn up with the flowers and she'll see! Not sure what I can do as there's nowhere to hide them in my house ? any ideas? xxx

Coukd you ask your dad or bridesmaids to hide them and take them to the reception venue? Or could the florist deliver those straight to your venue? Last thing you want to worry about when you're getting ready! X

Natalie, I was going to say the same as ladyworm- could you not get the florist to take your Mum's flowers straight to the venue for you? Also- really pleased you had such a fab time on your hen do!

My venue is about 25 mins away and they would have had to charge £17.50 delivery to there! They are only a small florist and only do local delivery for free. I don't want to leave them in the car in case they start wilting! Xxx

Natalie, Is there a partner of a best man or bridesmaid who would be around to take them to the venue for you?

Not really, it's a bit awkward, the best man is from Bristol (we're in Kent) so he doesn't live round here and is staying at the venue all weekend, so he won't be available to help with it. All OH's family are from Hull so staying at the venue too. Not sure if I might be able to get a friend involved to pick them up or something... it's really not what I want to be worrying about on my Wedding day lol! xxx

I'm paying the florist on Friday then that's everything paid except hair and make up on the day whoo hoo!!!

Oh my giddy aunt!! Time is flying by way too fast for my liking!!

So last night I went to print off some photos we are giving as presents and the printer ran out of ink...which also meant I couldn't print off the menus either! Argh! So, ordered more ink which should hopefully arrive before the end of the week. Tonight I think I'm gonna finish the post box...although I can't print any lable for it yet. I might start sorting through and putting all the table stuff together. I need to buy some boozy gifts. We need to complete our playlist. We asked our guests to send us a song choice...do you think anyone has bothered?? **sighs** I think I am becoming a bridezilla! Last night we got the suitcases out for the honeymoon and I made OH go through his clothes...he needs clothes! Grrr! We're going to Vegas so he wont need a lot but will probably need shorts. I dreamt about packing cases and plastic boxes for the table stuff last night.

I think I am overthinking and overpanicking! SOMEONE SLAP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grrrr, two and a half weeks to go and my CBM has decided to dial up the crazy. She is constantly texting / messaging me to say things like - "I'm texting you to see if you want to come to lunch but I know you wont want to come because I'm there" and "would you rather i didnt go to x's drinks tonight so you dont have to see me"

I've done nothing to make her feel this way but she is so insecure it's incredible. I'm so stressed right now I just don't feel like falling into the usual required "oh but of course I want you there" dance I normally have to do.

Wow she sounds like she's being a right cow! Why don't you just reply and say "why do you think I don't want you there?" or something, rather than shower her in compliments just ask her why she's saying that, and ask her to stop! Its a couple of weeks before your wedding, she should be buzzing with excitement not being awkward! ?

Wow what a handful! Even though you might be used to pandering to her, its the last thing you need in the run up to your wedding. I'd be inclined to tell her outright that you need support at the moment and that if she doesn't want to help, she should stay out of your way.

Just had an email to say our rings didn't come in today! They were being made for us and were due on 3rd September, but they told me they would take another 2 weeks as they wanted to remake mine, as they weren't happy with the quality. They were supposed to come in today but they haven't should be in tomorrow now, which means I'll get them Thursday. I know it's not the end of the world but I am so excited to get them and it keeps getting put back! needed a mini rant xxx
