Onesies

Pinky6, 10 December, 2012 at 15:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 42

I had a dream about them last night, no idea why.

But, my sister wants one for Christmas. Where did you get yours from?

I got my sister's from New Look, they have loads in there. It is grey with peach hearts all over it, £24, so not cheap but better quality than the primarni ones. Am hoping she loves it, she's a pj's on at 7pm girl so think she will!

Primarni's good. New look also have some decent ones.

Asda has some online too ?

Or for something a bit more funky try ebay (I got OH a superman one!)

I have a cow one that I got in the Topshop sale last year for £12. I also have a plain black Primark one that was £3 but the quality's not great.

Thanks all. Will take a look in New Look and Primarni then.

I want one but they don't do tall onesies. I don't know if I would like it though as I hate even answering the door in my dressing gown so think I would feel the same if I was wearing my onesie!

My H has bought me this for Christmas. I LOVE it as it's purple and has ducks on it, which are two my favourite things - I can't wait....

I don't care how uncool this makes me look. I live in pj's when I'm at home, so making it even easier to get dressed in them is a winner with me ?

I was tempted to buy one as my kids have them and they look so cute. But I wouldn't look cute, I will look stoooopid.

Plus if I went to the loo in the middle of the night I'd have to de-robe completely to go, it's far too cold for all that. If they made them with bum flaps then maybe I'd be tempted...

I have always wondered about the going to the loo problem too. You'd have to undress and would freeze.

I have the same toilet ponderings. Far too much faff and hassle to bother. Plus I'd look like a complete idiot.

Small price to pay I guess! I think I'd wear a tshirt under them anyway.

Onesies are the comfiest things in life! Although I do get cold when I pee ☹️ Men's ones have a zip that goes from the bottom too, so they can just flop it out and stay warm! Not fair!

Mine's from primarni and although it's super comfy, it's red and no matter how many times I wash it, there is fluff all over the house. Also, their sizes are pretty messed up, I had to get a size 6-8 (I'm usually about a 10) and the sleeves are pretty much three quarter length (they aren't supposed to be) - but then it was only £14!

I have a feeling I am receiving one for Xmas as my future Sister-In-Law is trying to get me into these!

I'm not a pijama person myself, I musch prefer sleeping in light night dress, most of mine are silk because it feels good on the skin!

I recently saw some interesting looking ones in Marks and Spencers (As an xmas present to the said sister Smiley smile ) but they didnt really look warm, the material was very thin, much to my surprise.. A bit pricey at £35 each.

I had been wondering the same thing, about how you go to the toilet and the cold. Apparently one of my work colleagues says the trick is to wear a pair of pjs under it, so that when you pull it off to go to the toilet you are still wearing the pj top ?

I have 3 and I love them all. I dont sleep in them though they are too heavy, I just have them just for lounging about the house in. Comfiest things ever. 2 are from New look and one from Amazon. I'm trying to get H to have one but he says no as you will be able to see his willy. He likes me in mine though, he thinks they are cute. These are mine. I'm not even slightly ashamed. I heart them muchly.

Also, being on the tall and fat side, do they make them sufficiently roomy or would I find the seam crawling up my nether regions within minutes of putting said garment on?

I love that first one VP!

Mrs Custard I think it's more of a comfort over style thing in this case.

VP - yours look more like jogging suits where the top and bottom have been stitched together. While I still wouldn't wear one, I can almost see how these are slightly better than PJ-style ones.

AC - give over. You won't bust out of them, well, not apart from your ankles anyway.

Anyone - are these somehow better than lounging in PJs (which I don't do either)?

No, I didn't buy one. I dislike New Look, and adult onesies.

I think because my kids wear them, they just seem like kids things. I'd feel like one of those adults whose fetish is to dress as a giant baby.

This!!!!! I really really don't get it. I am very much a PJ person, and spend a fair bit on nice sets from Boux Avenue. (just bought this set http://www.bouxavenue.com/wilderness-long-sleeve-pj-top-claret/201191-40cl

the matching trousers are in the pics below the main one)

I would never, never be seen dead in a giant babygro though!

I wear pjs then my onesie then thermal socks and slippers and usually a blanket. I could live in my Jammie's!! Our house is Baltic even with the heating on!! I love mine. It's from Republic, it's bright pink but its like jogging bottoms or hoodie material rather than pj type material. I don't sleep in mine as its too hot but I love it and don't care that I look like a giant baby! It's only for around the house. Although H thinks I look cute in it! I'd like another for Christmas.

I have recently ordered myself one, but the tracksuit type one for lounging around the house in rather than to sleep in. I don't like the fleecy versions.

I do get what people say about them being a giant babygrow but if you have pyjamas that have matching colour top and bottom they sometimes look like all in ones anyway, in fact I have a pyjama jumpsuit that is all in one but looks like pyjamas but it is spaghetti straps and cropped bottoms so more of a summer onesie.

My brother has had one for a few years now, he has got one of the proper norwegian 'onepiece' ones, it cost about £150 !!!! ? ? and he is one of the people that wear them outside the house like normal clothes ! ?

Yes my nephew has one of those! I can't believe the price of them! I think my one (further up the thread, navy blue) is a knock off copy of one of those norwegian ones! At the bargain price of £30! ?
