Petrol Prices in your area

FIONATS73, 1 February, 2011 at 10:25 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

I know this is a big subject at the moment what are the prices like at the moment in your area?

Unleaded which is what I use is £127.9 and thats the cheapest I think near work

Diesal is I think £130.9 which h has

When you hear what other countries charge and pay it makes me so annoyed, and only 6 - 8 months ago it was under £1.00

Also what annoys me is we are quite close to Stanlow in Cheshire and pay more than people who live 10 miles further down the road and further away

I have heard that the goverment are thinking of scrapping the duty increase in April which I hope they do because soon we will not be able to come to work.

They are increasing prices all the time but for my self and H our salaries are not increasing with even inflation

In High Wycombe we are paying 126 for unleaded & 131 for diesel. Think we are going to need a second mortgage every time we fill up at this rate! Unfortunately unrest in the middle east at the moment seems to be increasing the price of oil (in addition to the increased taxes here) so don't be surprised to see it creep up a bit more ☹️

Do you not think the supermarkets will have a price battle again soon? Like they have before to bring them down.

If they do I hope its soon. I put in 20 quid yesterday and on my car it says it will last 100 miles which is finnn pants!!!

Taxes (inc VAT) make up about 80 - 90p of the price. Cost and transportation another 40p ish. Actual profit for the retailer currently stands around the 5p a litre mark.

So unless cost or taxes comes down (neither look likely any time soon) then this is set to continue.

It's about 126.9 a litre round here for unleaded. As of, well pretty much now, I can no longer afford to drive to the station and pay for my train card. My options are to leave a good deal earlier in the morning and catch a bus to a station further away (not much cheaper but fortunately covered by my travel card) or to leave off buying the train card and drive the whole way into work. Think the bus is going to win on this one but I'm not pleased.

And previous governments. Biggest increases were between 1996 and 2000 and it has increased steadily since then. It's all on that website if you fancy a read.

Thank you we use this to find the cheapest petrol/diseal in our area and sometimes it generally the one near where i work, I dont generally read the rest of it just get where I can save some pennies ? But then again saving the 1p or 2p you spend it in getting to the cheapest petrol station
