Pets!

natalieexx, 4 December, 2012 at 13:02 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 74

Thought it might be nice to do a pet flash... I know most pet owners are like me and adore their animals!

We adopted a cat on Saturday from Bredhurst Cats Protection, amazing place. She's called Silky and is 4, and has settled in perfectly! She was mauled by a dog as a kitten and broke her pelvis and rear hip so can't curl up, she has to lay out her back legs all the time. But she is the most loving, trusting girl and is very playful! Plus she's a little cutie... [Edited to add a photo of Silky cuddling H's hand as he stroked her... aww!]

Also, the other love of my life is my Mum's cat, who I've missed so much since moving out a couple of months ago. he was also a rescue cat and after having him for a couple of weeks, he attacked his own tail due to stress and had to have it removed. We've had him for 6 years so far and he's the happiest cat, although he does act like a grumpy old man at times!

Flash me yours!

This is my little furry baby Lizzy. We adopted her 3 years ago. She got ran over as a kitten and was taken in by a cat shelter, she is very timid and scared to death of other cats.

Very cute Natalie. Did the landlord come round to the idea of a pet in the end.

My adorable Ray, as all of you know and are all sick of seeing but he really is the apple of my eye. ?

Oh God what a cutie! What sort of dog is he?

I can't remember who suggested it but I ignored Haart and emailed the landlady direct, she was more than happy for us to have a cat and told me that when she lived there she had 2! So Haart were lying and trying to get more money out of us! The landlady hasn't been impressed with Haart at all and I think she will ding them out at the end of the year contract and deal with us direct which is great news as she's lovely ?

This is Nahla (excuse the unmade bed & the look of disgust on her face)!. She is just over a year old and we got her from my boss whose cat had lots of kittens, so we've had her since she was 8 weeks old!

This is Tessa, she is 11 and is a rescue. DH actually picked her up the day she was meant to be put down as her owner (who paid over £1k for her) decided they didn't want her anymore. She hadn't been walked on a lead, although she had a harness ingrown under her fur. She is my baby girl and the third Westie we've owned (one died, one fostered for 9 months)

She has had two mastectomies in the last year so not sure how much longer we will have her, she is a big part of the family and we had her with us on our wedding day (not dressed up or carrying rings BtW)

Aww this thread makes me sad.

This is my cat Floss who is 18 and a half! She has always lived with my mum but she and her sister Jessie (who passed away a few years ago) were given to me and my brother one year. I found out yesterday that they are probably putting down on Friday. Massive sad faces Smiley sad

Ahh that's great news Natalie. Love the pets. I can't flash from work anymore (they've done something - I reckon they're watching me du du durrrr). But fear not, I shall be back this evening with Buster flashes a plenty!

I think he is trying to prove a point! He's never quite forgiven me for removing his Crown Jewels, he was 18 months old when we got him so they were quite *ahem* developed. Even the vet was shocked.

We have two ex-strays, Jake and Jasper.

Jake is now 8 - we've had him since 2005. He likes custard cream biscuits, curry and ice cream. Jasper is between 2-4yrs and we've had him since January, he likes almost anything with Mince Pies, Spag Bol and Garden Peas particular favourites.

    Love pet threads ❤️

    Here are some of mine;

Judy (rescued as a puppy - some evil arse threw her and her sisters/brothers in the river - luckily a dog walker waded in and rescued them)

Charley & Skye (rescued as kittens from a neighbour who was also an arse and didn't want them anymore because they were too hairy?)

Bella (was a stray now a princess)

    Harvey (our Maine Coon)

Last one....this is Sunny (1 of our bearded dragons) He's a cheeky character.

    Giving Chloe stink eye...

Elsa and Elise, they will be 2 next year, both sisters from CP.

This is a Seal Point Siamese kitten, I am completely in love with them and desperate to own one. OH is being mean and says no more than 2 cats and I have no idea how to persuade him one more really isnt a big deal. It isnt even the cost, he just says he doesnt want another cat but who couldnt love that little face???

Oggers that kitten picture made my eyes water.

2 cats are good, 3 cats are better and 4 are perfection. I know.

These are my favorite threads because all of your furries are amazing, but also the ones I hate the most because I don't get to join in because I can't have a pet [:'(]

    This is Maggie-May Banana T.

She's 4 now and I love her. She is always fighting with other cats and is forever coming home with scratches and stuff, but she loves us and we love her.

Labradoodle!!! There are oodles of doodles around these days, I LOVE it! And they're so rambunctious, especially when they get into groups ?

    Here's some gratuitous Wispa flashes:

And in need of a trim, I think:

Actually, since a lot of you are cat lovers, I'll go ahead and share a couple photos of the Chartwell cats. Churchwill requested that there always be a marmalade cat named Jock in residence at Chartwell, so, here's Jock V:

He was so upset when I did this to him, hahahaha.

And here's Franklin, uor House steward's cat (he came into the office while I was waiting for Jock to come inside to be tortured, so I got 2 cats in one day!):
