We adopted a cat on Saturday from Bredhurst Cats Protection, amazing place. She's called Silky and is 4, and has settled in perfectly! She was mauled by a dog as a kitten and broke her pelvis and rear hip so can't curl up, she has to lay out her back legs all the time. But she is the most loving, trusting girl and is very playful! Plus she's a little cutie... [Edited to add a photo of Silky cuddling H's hand as he stroked her... aww!]

Also, the other love of my life is my Mum's cat, who I've missed so much since moving out a couple of months ago. he was also a rescue cat and after having him for a couple of weeks, he attacked his own tail due to stress and had to have it removed. We've had him for 6 years so far and he's the happiest cat, although he does act like a grumpy old man at times!

Flash me yours!

I've one baby (toddler i guess) and one 11 year old dog. Babies I can do again. Puppies, no. The youngest rescue we had was 2 and he was as hyper as they come!

I'm actually allergic, Natalie! I'm only allergic to the dander though, and since Wispa is non-shedding, there isn't a heck of a lot of dander flying around in the air, and I'm fine.

The cats at work kill me, though!

Aahh I'm allergic to everything. I'm ok with the cat as it's not airbourne, if we had 2 I think I'd feel it more though. Dogs kill me, even non-shedding dogs! Stayed with a friend for a week who had a toy poodle, I was so ill!

I'm allergic to feathers too, and hair, so I have never rode a horse before. I'm also allergic to sheep! Random ?

I'm allergic too - I'm very allergic to cats, it sets my asthma off and my lips puff up.

I am also allergic to Jasper, but only to his saliva, strange as that sounds. I come out in a bit of a rash where he's licked me. I love my boys though, and I couldn't face not having a dog in my life. I take a low-dose antihistmine everyday to combat my allergy to them.

There's a lot of dander in saliva, that's probably why! Antihistamine's don't even touch me, they are useless. They used to work better for me, i think I may have built up a resistance to them!

I'm allergic to cats! You build up a tolerance over time though. When I first get a new one my Asthma gets really bad.

Shea gets called Batdog too as even at 18 months it still looks like his ears are too big for his head!

This is one of the studs the breeder I have my eye on uses so potentially a seal point boy from her could grow up just like him!

I think 3 cats would be a great idea, it might actually bring the girls back together as currently they are not getting along ☹️

You know what Flow, you're so right.

    Last night's entry...

Today I met a girl. Grandma brought her round to see if I would get on with her enough to stay at Grandmas house on Saturday while mummy and daddy go away for the night.

Mummy insisted on putting that cage over my mouth before they arrived. I don't know why she does that - it means I can't protect us with my lovely sharp teeth.

Grandma and Sultan came in first. I miss them both lots. I don't see them as much any more as mummy won't take me round to grandma's much. Mummy and daddy tell me I can't be trusted as I'm not very nice to other doggies. I think this is very unfair - I'm lovely to Sultan. It's not my fault every other dog I meet wants to kill me. Surely it's best to try and kill them first?

Anyway, so a couple of minutes later Molly comes in. I was a bit nervous and overexcited and ran towards her. She didn't like this very much and barked at me a lot. Mummy grabbed me by my collar (a lovely new brown leather one she bought be after I pulled so much that I snapped my other one. It obviously wasn't very well made.) and pulled me away.

Well I could barely contain my excitement! There was another dog! In my house! My tail was wagging very fast. Mummy sat me down and Molly was sat on Grandma's knee. They let me go a bit closer to smell her but I tried to jump on her. Not in an aggressive way, I could tell she wasn't one of the dogs that tries to kill me on my walks, but she barked at me again Smiley sad

I could hear mummy and grandma talking. They were saying that I have no boundaries and that I don't know how to act around other dogs. But I was proud that mummy could tell I wasn't trying to be aggressive.

Unfortunately it was obvious that Molly didn't like me very much which means that I can't go and stay on Saturday. This means that either grandma or grandad is going to have to come and see me while the other gets to stay with Molly and Sultan.

I'm going to try much harder next time not to get overexcited.
