Pets - Lets see what us Hitchers have as companions

miss.understood, 8 February, 2011 at 23:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 58

Following my rant about irresponsible dog owners, i wondered what companions us Hitchers have.

Here's some of mine:

Roxy - my 4 1/2 year old staffy x daschund (we got her from a rescue shelter 2 years ago)

with the h2bs doggy slippers!

and having cuddles with me:

4 guinea pigs... Johnny(or the J Dawg as Wayne calls him!), Charlie Boo Boo, Dandelion Daisy Or DeeDee for short and Clover

    5 rats.....Reeves & Mortimer, Cheech & Chong and Gizmo

2 cats....our dear old beautiful Puddy and a crazy, manic 1yr old Ginger tom called Archie (also goes under the names of Archie pants, Archie Bald, The Ginger Ninja, Ginger Fool and Archie, get Down)

We don't have any yet, but thinking of getting a cat soon. Going to get a rescue cat. Also planning on getting some rescue chickens later in the year.

My h2b really wants a pair of English Bull Terriers, which i also like.......however, h2b is also under strict orders from the management (thats me!) that he's not getting any other dog until Roxy has gone.....and with her silly cross breeding i have a feeling she'll be around for quite some time yet Smiley laugh xx

We have 2 cats - Clyde (a 2.5 year old Bi-colour long haired persian) and Clover (a 3.5 year old exotic persian rescue cat). We've had Clyde since he was a kitten and when his sister Bonnie had to be put to sleep at just a year old (she had nasal cancer) we got Clover to keep him company! They're now the best of friends!

    Here's Clyde:

    Cute lil kitty drifter.

I don't have any pets anymore but when I was growing up I had fish, hamsters, rabbits, a budgie, and a canary. I love rabbits, they're gorgeous.

We've got a fluffy black cat called Marley - he was originally from the RSPCA but we inherited him from Mr Kooks' brother.

We had to have my amazing Rottie x GSD put to sleep 2 days before Christmas - miss him every day ☹️ I'd had him 6 and a half years and adored every bone in his body

Darkivy - we had two rats (Flo and Dori). I got them for my h2b in September last year for his birthday in october. They've always been well looked after, fresh food and water daily, cleaned out regularly, not in a drafty place or anything. Last week we went to feed them and found them both dead. I found it really odd that they would both go together. They were 8 weeks old when we got them, so weren't very old at all.

No idea what happened to them. Smiley sad xx

Vickstix - your dog is very similar to one i had, though mine was a ***. She was cocker spaniel x jack russell, but she irritated the hell out of Roxy so one of our friends took her.

    Absolute double of your dog.

This was Skye on the right, shown with a german pointer pup i fostered (that pup was taken too young from her mum and dumped in a box - i've since found her a fabulous home in the country)

Wow that's really similar. Toby has the energy of the springer and the yappines and bouncy bit of the jack. Nightmare. I hate when people do that to animals. So unfair. Glad it was rehomed.

My two babies (although they are being VERY difficult just now - in a 'wanna beat your face up big time' mood with each other....)

This year we hope to get our rescue hens, and I'd HEART a dog but .... maybe next year....

Some seriously lush pets on this thread!

Aww, there's some really sweet pets!

    Here's our Jake:

He was a stray (this was in 2005, before the law changed) which we took in. We tried to trace his owners (posters, asked the police etc) but no one came forward, so he just stayed with us.
