Have a look at Paul Walker Images. They're so friendly and do anything they can to help you. They photographed my sisters wedding and will be doing mine now too x

Try Nikki McLeod or Martin Pettinger. Both have participated on this forum over the years...the latter also has some beautiful landscapes of the Scottish countryside....

Thank you all for your suggestions, I'll look into them all.

I would ideally like a photographer my friend had, but she only does full day packages 'in season' I'm looking at a date in June (2015) but don't need a full day, plan is we will be having a later service and I don't want getting ready shots, just minimal group and couple shots at the church, then some during meal and dancing - that's it really! I hate having my photo taken and I'm already feeling weepy about the though of it, so want as few photos as possible!

HIBS - am I onto plums getting someone good who's free on a Saturday in June to do a shorter day, when they could have the business of a full day wedding?

    Hi lovely

Did it also include the ceremony as you say group shots at the church and then onto the reception? I'll be honest, if it did include the ceremony, that is still more or less a full days coverage, the only thing you don't require is bridal preps. You might not want many photos taken but the Photographer will still be there all day.

As for someone good who will do that coverage, that should be no problem at all. I can only speak for myself but I love part day coverage weddings because I get to go home early or it's not so long on my feet. A few of them dotted in between full weddings is perfect!

Thanks for that. Suppose if you look at it that way it nearly is the same as full day but I'd not need the photographer to hang around after meal for cake cutting/first dance though, there won't be any speeches, but I'd like photos once the guest are seated at the reception. So ceremony, very minimal family / couple shots after it, then photos of venue and guests. Perhaps 4pm-7pm at the most. Definately not a full day shoot! Is it perhaps not worth the photographer's time!? This is why I'm worried I'd not get anybody because they'd maybe rather have the full day, but glad you say you don't mind a shorter day if it's just to get a bit of quieter weekend to yourself!!

Exactly, especially if its BBQ weather!!

I would never not do it just to keep the date free for a full day wedding so you should find someone!

Thank you - hopefully that's what they'll think! At least now I don't feel rude asking!

    Hi ATB,

I am a professional photographer based in Edinburgh, covering the whole of Scotland. I have recently joined this forum again (returning after number of years), but please come and have a look at the images on my web site. If you like my work, I believe I can give you what you are looking for. A lot of couples ask for this. I would capture your wedding as a story. If you prefer, the photography would include plenty of shots of what is happening during the wedding, including your guests, and it would not just be the married couple posing for the pictures, although I will make sure to get some good unobtrusive shots. I can put you at ease and will meet up in advance to discuss and talk you through.

    Kasia.

Hi ATB, I used https://www.ciaphotography.co.uk/ for our wedding and the photographer was great, we went for the disc only package which costs £495 for the following:

    Initial Consultation

    Pre wedding Final Details

    Photographer cover on the day

From guests arriving to your first dance

A image disk you can print from

A set of 6" by 4" printed proofs in a presentation box

Thanks JLS - that's a good call and very reasonable. I'll look into them as they are very local to me so possibly would be happy to negotiate on an even lower price, I'd honetly only want them for a few hours, won't be having a big gap for speeches and meal before the first dance (probably won't even have a first dance!)

Hi ATB, I used Soul Photography. Lovely man called Kris. He travels and also does packages for only a few hours. The best bit is you will get a CD with all your photos on it.Have a look at his site.
