polaroid camera

teamAJ, 31 July, 2011 at 21:17 Posted on Planning 0 9

I just bought a second hand polaroid camera, going to use it along side the guest book,

am inlisting the bridesmaid to take shots of the guests, stick the photo in the guestbook and then they can write nxt to their picture.

not a new idea i know, but has anyone else done this or are doing this?

should i buy a special guestbook for it or just use one of the regular ones? (should of thought about this already)

This sounds like a great idea!

Personally, I'd just use a regular guest book...but I suppose everyone's taste is different.

Bit of an obvious piece of advice, but make sure that the pages are big enough to hold the photograph!?

We've gone for a polaroid Zink printer, which gives sticky back photos and putting them in a guest book.

You'll have to think how to stick your regular polaroid photos in the guest book. Maybe photo corners from WH Smiths?

Yours is a much better idea! i may have to sell the polaroid camera i got and go for something like yours!

didnt do my research - just found out that they've stopped making film for the polaroid 600 range so the film thats available is well expensive starting at £17.50 for 10 pictures!

    hummmm change of plan needed!

I think I paid GBP 30 for the printer and then GBP8 for a pack of 70 papers from Amazon. It's really easy to use... ours is going to be manned by an 11 and 13 year old.

A couple of things I've noticed that might be something to be aware of.

Polaroid film itself isn't cheap. Amazon seems the best place for it though.

More importantly... the print will be 4 times the thickness of the albums paper. So will bulk out the album considerable and eventually damage the binding.

You can test this out by placing a 5p piece amongst every page, 1 for every image you think will go in.

    Thanks Chris,

That's really handy to know. My guest book is spiral bound paper. I think I won't be filling all of the pages, so I should be able to take the spares out, so as not to damage the book.

I love this idea of the pics in the guest book. We've been looking for polaroids but they are pretty expensive. May have to try Amazon Smiley smile

I have bought the exact same thing as you Karen. I am giving my bm's the task of going round taking pics and getting people to sign the guestbook next to their picture. Keep them out of trouble Smiley tongue

Happiness is not about being immortal nor having food or rights in one's hand. It’s about having each tiny wish come true, or having something to eat when you are hungry or having someone's love when you need love.
