Pre Wedding Shoot!!

helsbels35, 31 January, 2011 at 13:18 Posted on Planning 0 21

Anyone had one of these done with their Tog? What did you and OH wear? Did you choose a specific location? Mine is on sunday and I don't know what to wear - not wanting to be scruffy (obviously!) but not overdressed either....

Any thoughts ladies?

Depends on where the shoot is.

Generally something casual but tidy is great

Its about your photographer and you all getting comfy together, and you and your H2B getting used to the ideas of being photographed together

We're having one the 24th of feb and i've been thinking the same thing

Looking at other shoots my tog has taken people just dress as they normally would

    maybe a bit tidier !

As it's my birthday the following week i may "treat" myself to a new outfit ?

Good luck in your search & don't forget to flash !

    Hi,

I had the same dilema when we had ours. Spent ages trying to think of the perfect outfit.

Fate took over though. I had my hair and make up trial on the morning of our shoot and we ran over by nearly 2 hours, which as i result meant we were running late for the shoot.

I ended up in the jeans and tshirt i had on all morning. I was really worried about how they would look but when we got them back i loved the relaxed and natural look that came across.

Our tog lived relatively close to us and suggested we went by the canal and park.

We had a really lovely time.

    Enjoy.

Ah thats great, im thinking some smart jeans with a nice top - its all weather dependant aswell!!

Its more for my OH to get comfy with the camera - we've chosen our tog who he felt relaxed with so I just hope these come across in the photos.

Anyone got any ideas to flash to me?

We've got ours a week today (on my birthday) and we are going ice skating, should defo break the ice (pardon the pun haha)!

My H2B and I was already going and he said that would be great as a pre-shoot so hopefully he can come he's waiting on the management at the ice rink to get back to him to confirm if its ok for him to go with a big camera or not.

I'm kinda getting nervous as I'm not a lover of having my picture taken so this will help with the lead up to the wedding Smiley smile

I need to get mine booked... we are probably just going to go somewhere in London like Richmond Park and just have a romantic wander around so the tog can take pictures...

I was just going to wear jeans, boots and my gorgeous leather jacket with a fluffy scarf!

Not sure what the boy is going to wear yet though!

Yes I was thinking pretty scarf too Mrs C! Good idea Smiley winking

We can't decide between doing something local to us in hertfordshire - make the shoot abit more personal or to travel into london and let the tog decide for us...

Keep me updated on what your boy is going to wear......mine is clueless! Although not in the slightest bit bothered about what colour to wear as i am haha

We had ours in the grounds of our venue. I wore jeans tucked into knee boots and a winter coat. OH wore jeans, shoes, a jumper and a blazer with a scarf. He looked very handsome, even if I do say so myself ?

I would imagine I will probably get him into jeans and a jacket (he has one which looks like worn leather which would look good).

Anything to get him out of trackies and trainers!!!

There are some lovely places in Herts to go... I was also thinking about St Albans where we are but the tog is in London and so it would depend on whether she would travel to us. It would be nice to have something a bit more personal...

Maybe take along a flower to hold...? My friend did hers in October and was wandering around with a big orange oak tree leaf on the streets of London!

We've just booked ours for June, I haven't got a clue what I'll wear yet but I really love my Togs pics in a carpark so I think we're going to do that for part of it at least... I love some off his ideas, there were some really cool shots in a football stadium too... on the clothes side I'll probably go with jeans and a top /maybe jean shorts depending on the weather... I think the most important thign is that the outfit makes you feel good/ comfortable Smiley smile

I'd recommend wearing casual clothes, and a splash of colour is always good too. It also depends where you'll be having your shoot, make sure you dress for the weather and will be comfortable - after all if you're cold or your feet are killing you from heels then you may not enjoy the shoot as much! ?

They are a brilliant way to get to know your photographer, and for them to get an idea of how to work best with you too.

    Hope that helps

    Ali x

I'm really lucky our tog is giving it to us for free

How about talking to your tog maybe they'll do you one for next to nothing

as you've booked them for your big day?

    Worth a try maybe?

We already have a good deal on the whole package, plus she is travelling 2 hours+ to me plus the extra travelling on the day between the venues for no extra cost so it would be worth the extra for a Pre-wedding shoot.. We just can't afford it unless we come into some money ?

These are ours on our photographers blog, taken at our venue:

Was a great way of preparing us for the wedding-I was so worried about how I would look in the photos and has put my mind at ease.

Yup, we had one! It was football themed so we wore retro shirts for our teams, though we did change into different outfits (behind a rock in the middle of the park! ?) halfway through. We won the shoot in the Hitched Raffle and our TOG was Leicester based, so we went to a park nearby them. A few pics for you:

    Sorry they're big!
