PSA - Fit Flops

Mrs JMP, 27 July, 2008 at 20:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I have an toned arse now.

This is after 6 weeks of walking with them on all day.

That's all.

Really? So you would recommend them then?

I've just googled. They look quite nice, but sound painful!!

They are not at all painful, they are really really comfortable. I have just spent 4 days walking round Blackpool (miles and miles and miles!) and even though my weight has gone up due to all the food I have consumed, my jeans feel really loose round the thighs and bum. They (the fitflops not my thighs and bum) are fab and highly recommended!

Edited to add I bought mine online from a company called Running Bare - post and packing free and really quick delivery, N & P to them.

See I've been toying with the idea of these for ages as it's my thighs that are my troublesome area - I used to play rugby and they're still strong but they're not toned which is a pain.

So you'd really recommend them - any version in particular? Also is there a recommended amount of walking per week to do to see the benefit? I do a lot of wandering but need to assess the quantity required to see if it will be enough.

I'm very tempted to get myself a pair of these but am wondering how much different they are to normal flip flops (which i live in all summer currently). If there is a significant difference I might well invest in some.

I bought mine from John Lewis (sliver walkstar).

I don't do gimmick things - but have been impressed by these.

I've just ordered some in black, I'm excited about them arriving! I saw people wearing them on holiday and fancied a pair, hope they work!

Will let you know how I get on. ?

Why do I let Hitched (not Hitchers) persuade me I need to spend money?

I really should try the diet first, but no, I've ordered some. I'm starting SW tomorrow (it's always tomorrow!), so this is OK, right?

I suspect they're not for people who eat doughnuts, are they?

They are very different to normal flip flops, as soon as you put them on you can feel the difference, they have a thicker sole and it feels sort of spongy under the heel and toe area as you walk, I don't have to walk far before I can feel the muscles in my thighs and bum working, much more than if I had ordinary shoes/flip flops on.

To whoever mentioned eating doughnuts, well no doubt if you want to lose weight/fat as well as tone up then these are not going to counteract the doughnuts but on the other hand I have spent the last four days eating all manner of crud in Blackpool, including fish n chips, masses of pasta, chocolate, cream meringues etc and although I have put on a couple of pounds my jeans are definitely looser in the hips/bum/thigh area. I put it down to miles of walking in my fitflops.?

    Oooo gonna take a look.

I've been trying to eat more sensibly, doing aquaerobics, jogging, going to gym and even fitball class, but I still have flabby bum & thighs with cellulite!

Humph can only find black ones in size 3 so far. I really like the silver ones.

Just a slight word of caution to add.... I bought some last year and they were too loose. They were the right size length wise, but the band going over the top of my foot was too loose so they didn't stay on. And I don't think I have particularly narrow feet, although they're not wide either. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Would these be okay if you generally cant walk in the usual cheapy flip flops? The plastic bitty between the toes usually hurts me.

I bought mine from www.boots.com - have worn them for months but honestly can feel or notice any difference. Perhaps I'm just too big in the first place and squash the soles!

I just managed to get some size 3 bronze ones from Boots website. I bought a make up brush and some tweezers too cos if your order is over £40 it's free delivery!

I guess if I try them on and they're no good I can always send them back.

I desperately want to lose the cellulite so it's gotta be worth a try. I'm not massively overweight, so maybe they'll do enough just to tone things up a bit if I wear them all the time?
