I'd like to nominate Sports World. The most disorganised and claustrophobic shopping experience I've ever had, the staff are surly and rude and all the stock that isn't Lonsdale or Umbro is put on those ridiculously high rails that you have to ask one of the disinterested teenaged staff to fetch it down for you, which usually results in further grunting and muttering under their breath.

Anyone else like to nominate?

    They aren't the only people to do that though - I think it's because the seat is non-returnable if you get the wrong one for you car. But still, it's shoddy customer services to keep a customer waiting because of a phone call like that.

    Whsmith, especially for now charging 1p for a carrier bag, you sell books ffs.

    Yes we all know that we should reuse bags but it's not like you are that bothered about the environment with your individually wrapped pens and big juggernaughts hurtling up and down. And I don't need some jumped up 12 year old girlie telling me it goes to charidee, which one would that be then, oh yes the WHSmith one. I'll choose who I want to give my pennies to thank you very much!

    God I needed that rant!

    Also a certain electrical store when I was in last weekend looking for a washing machine, waited twenty minutes for someone to come over and when I dared to approach a lady to see if anyone was available to help me, barked at me 'No, there isn't we have no staff'

    Well sorry lady, that's not my problem and busted your ass, as I was on a mystery shop at the time and had to report all this back.

    I haven't finished the thread yet, so sorry if this has already been posted, but those of you who've mentioned Argos, take a look at this:

    Nick, I'd have to save Greggs - I love their caramel/custard doughnuts and we have no Greggs bakeries in the East, so I only get one when I'm oop North.

    TKMax= tat

    Next=overpriced goods that never fit an hourglass figure and the quality is rubbish.

    Primark= jumble sale and full of chavs.

    Asda= whilst I would like to get rid of them for the leching men that are in there, they do have good wine offers, so I would keep them only for the wine.

    Lush= the smell is foul.

    Wallis= for crap design of clothes for the past year. I loved some items in that shop and now I'm just overly disappointed every time I go in.

    Monsoon= for having lovely clothes but being so over priced that I refuse to buy anything from them and their sale usually contains items which have zips broken, buttons missing and makeup stains all over them.

    They are evil. I forgot to mention what happened when I did go back to pick up the bike I got (which was ill fitting and unsuitable thanks to their utter lack of help and which I ditched within six months to go back to my faithful old bike ?). They had assembled it for me, so I rode it home. I was half way home (maybe 1/2 mile away from the shop) and one of the pedals fell off so suddenly I lost balance and lurched out into traffic! I had to walk home - I didn't take it back to the shop because I wasn't at all certain I could restrain myself from trying to insert the damn bike into one of the assistants. Evil, I tell you!

    For New Bike I am going to a lovely local bike shop I go to now and they are going to fit me for a bike and help me with what I need and then I can force Halfords to order it through them. Evil. Eeeeeeeevil ?

    I avoid Sports World and Primark like the plague and I don't like Iceland either but I love Next and don't mind TKMax (if I am in the mood for a bargain hunt). Granted I never buy my clothes there (TKMax) as I can't be bothered to look through rails of (mostly) tat, but H always finds really good bargains on jeans (often current season) and I love looking through the home stuff and beauty bits. Yesterday my sister and I popped in and among our 'finds' were a large bottle of my fave perfume which can be found in the beauty hall of JL for £60 (I paid £23), a pack of 3 full sized lancolm Beauty Tubes (every one of my handbags must have one in there) for under £10 and I also picked up a really nice set of crystal wine glasses too. It is often hit and miss and some stores are better than others, but if you have the time, you can come away with a few nice bits.
