Its took some doing I tell you, I've always been a saver but I've had to really push myself. I cant remember the last time I bought myself something new, but it will all be worth it.

£2 coins are the best to save as they mount up so quickly, I try so hard not to spend them!!!

My OH is OBSESSED with £2 coins. Seriously. He will break a £20 note if the only alternative is to spend a £2 coin. He pays for everything with them, his half of our bed, his half of our tv!

Well done you! That must feel like a great big tick off the to do list! Because I waited so long for the proposal I had been saving beforehand, now I don't want to spend money from the wedding fund because I'll be sad to see the number go down, lol! Keep paying for the little things out of my everyday money so the fund doesn't disappear!

Me too. I've been scrimping for over a year but we've got the amount needed to cover the wedding so anything I add to it between now and May is a bonus!

We've recently started the £2.00 coin thing too. Friends of ours saved £1,000 in a year! Mr B even remembers about it if he is absolutely hammered down the pub and won't spend them!

WOW, well done to you, that must feel fantastic. We are already in the middle of booking things, and finding the money from salaries as we go (the amount we had expected we would save towards it), so as long as nothing comes in really over budget, we should be fine. Congrats on your saving though, wish I had your will power and determination.
