Scars

HatTrick, 21 January, 2012 at 22:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 45

Do you have any scars that you have collected from a particularly stupid experience?

I ask because I have just seen the scar on my bum from when I sat on my (HOT!) straighteners ?

I have one down my right leg, from standing on a desk that I had begun to unscrew to get something off the ceiling!

Lots. Am scarred and easily scarred. Bikes, irons, straighteners, fingernails, whatever. My favourite scar on my knee. I got it when I was 6, whilst skipping. Nearly 30 years later, I can remember it perfectly. The exact move, the scrape of the rope, who was holding the ends, where we were playing.

Crackers on my face though (see previous posts on scarring).

I sat on my straighteners once HT - you're not alone.

I have a scar on my hand where I got in the way of my dog trying to eat the face of a passing dog.

Ovens, forgot ovens. And grills. Lots of lines down the top of my arm from various hot things.

    And knives.

I am basically the clumsiest person ever.

My bum is still peachy though.

    Apart from the hair.

Health and safety? I'm a scientist, my days are spent rallying against health and safety. I demand the right to not wear a lab coat, play with fire and throw some stem cells around .

Haha! He's a gem with people - but boy does he hate other dogs. Couldn't fault the little blighter in the house.

    This is he:

    I'm boring scar wise.

I have one on my right ring finger where a champagne glass broke whilst I was washing it, two identical scars on my chin from falling as a child. The most annoying one I have is on my left arm, a tiny one in my vein which is just from blood tests. I have had so many in exactly the same place it has scarred. Each time I get blood taken the nurse just sticks it right in the scar, at least she has somewhere to aim for now.

I've just remembered I have another scar on my chin, from a bright idea of standing on a space hopper, and it slipped and I landed on my chin!

I am noting a pattern, I will no longer stand on anything that is not solid floor

Yup I have one on my thumb, from when we were making jam tarts in juniors, I got on the rocking horse with my tarts fresh from the oven on a plate still red hot and on fell off the plate and stuck to my thumb. Molten hot jam. I had to go to hospital with the jam tart still on my hand.

I don't have any scars, but I lost half a tooth as a kid when I threw a tennis racket up in the air and tried to catch it....ended up in my mouth rather than my hand!

I recently scarred my neck with some curlers, not quite as amusing as it being on your bum though HT.

The most interesting scar I have though is one from a dog bite on my leg. My ex boyfriend was physically fighting with his brother and I was trying to pull them apart, due to a lot of shouting the dog must have thought I was hurting their owners and got excited and bit my leg, and by bit I mean that she latched onto my ankle for about 30 seconds shaking it side to side. I didn't notice at first as I was too busy trying to stop the fight but once the pain hit I soon realised!! Ouch.

I scar very easily - am covered in the things.

One across the bottom of my left foot from my unfortunate measuring jug/jumping incident.

Huge one on my wrist from an oven burn

Loads on my arms from cats

And my gammy shoulder keloids- a tribute to Sri Lanka and thier mean n nasty mosquitos.

About four on my right knee as that seemed to be my preferred landing pad as a child whenever I fell.

One on my eyebrow which is becoming less noticable as they ears go by and eyebrows start to cover it again.

I have one on my forehead where I fell all the way downstairs while wearing my mum's shoes. Head connected with corner of oak chest. I was three years old at the time and remember the nice ambulance man picking me up and carrying me out to the ambulance (We didn't have a car until I was 11).

I also (bizarrely) remember the shoes, they were dark red.

I have a scar on my bottom lip - I was stood on a chair when I was little, slipped and my teeth went through my lip.

I have a long scar on my right shin from "sliding" down a rock when I was on holiday in my teens. I decided to explore some rock pools (in flip-flops), lost my footing, slipped and cut my shin open.

I also have another scar on my left arm from when I locked myself out of our house. I went down the back alley (we live in a terrace house) as I knew the back door was unlocked, couldn't get through the gate as it was locked from the other side, so decided to stand on our wheelie-bin and climb over the wall. Excellent plan, except Wheelie-bins have wheels and it bloody moved when I stood on it. I fell to the ground and cut my arm (on the sharp bricks in the wall, I would guess).

This thread has made me feel a lot better about how clumsy I am!

I have a big scar down my middle finger and a weird dint and scar in the little finger of my right hand from where I fell upstairs holding a cup of coffee. I tripped up a stair and the cup smashed on the floor and I was left with the handle in my hand! I had to have 4 stitches in my finger, which wasn't a nice experience.

I have another scar across the top of my right arm from where I was taking something out of the oven and just lifted my arm up onto the top of the oven, instead of out and up.

I sometimes wonder how I made it to 25 with how clumsy I am.

I have loads of scars - I won an award at school in YR8 for being 'Most Clumsiest' ?

I have a big one on my knee. It was at the local summer fete and they had a fun house, you know the spinny tunnel that you have to walk across? Well it was carpeted and I couldn't make it across =/ I kept tripping up. I was only 6 and i've never stepped foot in a fun house since!

I once thought I was cool doing 'no handed' on my brothers bike - showing off in front of his friends. Untill I went straight over the handle bars and smashed my face off the kerb. I now have an inch scar under my eye.

I have numerous scars over my hands from forgetting baking trays are hot when the come out of the oven.

I have sat on hot straightners too! Also burnt my ears whilst straightening my hair.
