Sent invite out last Friday (15th march) and already had 6 RSVP acceptance cards :-)

Bride to be Becky from Derbyshire, 19 March, 2013 at 18:16 Posted on Planning 0 16

I'm really happy I sent all my invitations out last Friday and have already had 6 RSVP cards back . I'm really pleased. It's so exiting , checking the post is the first thing I do when i come home from work now. Lets hope everyone else replays as quick. Although the date we out on invites for all to be returned with food choices isn't until 1st just so I presume some people may leave it a little longer.

Did anyone have to chase many people or did everyone reply in plenty of time?

Hi, thats a really good response!

We've had about 6 cards and a few emails since our invites went out about 2 weeks ago,

Im finding that alot of people assume we know that they're coming and dont think they need to rsvp (will just have to develop a very good memory!) Smiley smile

Also, some havnt specified dietary requirements when I know 2 are vegi's so watch out for that!

I had to spend a day driving round and ringing people to get their RSVP's. We wrote strict RSVP by a certain date and half of them didn't read the invite properly. We had to get final numbers because we have a minimum spend at the venue to get the venue for free!

Not everyone is that quick I'm afraid. There's just over a week for people to reply to us and only 40% have replied so far! I figure we'll be doing lots of chasing at the beginning of April!

we had two meal choices and a vegi option so hopefully people should pick the vegi option but not sure if anyone else has any other diary requirements , I'm not physic so how people tell me if they do.

Thankyou, not had anymore today though ,Although I know a few friends I'm seeing over the weekend have told me they have there's to give us..

some people are so rude! what horrile people .

I was talking to someone at work who is getting married easter bank holiday weekend and told me that some of their guests have told other people they will be attending but haven't RSVP yet and not let them know with food choices. ( less than two weeks away) I said if people don't have chance to RSVP to me I will not have time to chase them, I don't see why I should. We've given plenty of notice postal adress or email address for rsvp so hopefully this won't happen to us.

I've got a spread sheet and have been updating it as soon as got the rsvps . At the weekend we got our card box it's in the shape of a chest which can be kept as a keepsake box after the wedding to keep the cards in.

is anyone else's spare room not look like a bedroom anymore but a wedding craft storage room??? Lol

Oh dear did you really. I don't understand how rude some people are , do they not realise how many other things you have to do to plan a wedding and one less thing you could do with out is chase people for RSVP.

How long did you give people to reply ? Fingers crossed you get lots of RSVPs tomorrow so you don't have to chase :-)

We sent out a total of 52 invites. We got half back within 3 weeks. We sent them in November and tried to get in before Xmas so people would respond. We had to do a little chasing but only really had to nag 2 people. The invites got sent out early so we'd not have to worry about chasing so near to the wedding. Most people already knew if they could come and therefore it made sense to get the RSVP's back quickly.

The thing is though how would they feel if they didn't get an official invitation and you just told them when you saw them or txt them. ( they wouldn't be happy with that)

That's good then that you got most back within 3 weeks . I'm thinking there's possibly 2 people who I may have to chase ( the type of people who always seam to give you your birthday card the day after your birthday etc lol )

I sent my invites out in early Feb and have had probably around half back already. Some people have told me they are coming and not sent back the piece of card but thats fine, I have made a table in Word to keep track of everybody and their dietary requirements so the rsvps themselves are not really needed once I have put all the information in.

My rsvp date is 31st June, slightly earlier than needed but it gives me time to chase up any missing names.
