I just heard this on the news. They made a plea of not guilty apparently.

I cannot understand how any sane person could do something like this.

it's going to be a very interesting trial, especially to see what defence they cook up

as much as i feel sorry for shannon, at least one positive thing is she and her siblings may have a chance at a decent life, now they've been taken off those two excuses for parents

My guess is that they saw all the contributions the McCanns were getting for their fund and their teeny tiny brains thought "We could have a piece of this, no one will ever find out".

Didn't someone from their family actually contact the McCanns and ask them for some of the cash to help with the search?

big media campaign ala Madeleine Mccann, finding shannon fund etc. interviews with papers after she is found etc, big exclusive by the news of the world, interview with Jeremy Kyle,

thats my cynacism, and maybe the fact it did not come to that could show the lack of functioning brain cells?

    That was my assumption too.

Jeez, poor bloody kids. Like someone else has said, I'm sure being in care is not an easy option, but hopefully there's at least a small chance that it's better than the one they were born with.

    Yep, I agree.

Poor girl, what does anyone do to deserve having such cretinous "parents".

This kind of thing makes me totally in awe of foster parents. How can they do it? I couldn't, I'm sure.

wss. apparently the ones caring for shannon are specialist carers for troubled kids, but how could you prepare for a situation like this?

My parents foster but I don't think I could myself, being a foster sister is enough ?. Unfortunately there are lots of children with parents like that - maybe not as well publicised but with the same amount of brain cells or less. Scary.

I agree but it will always be part of her history what her mum did to her, how can she recover from that?

I agree. One of my neighbours is a foster carer and most of the kids that she looks after come from similar homes.
