Silly things you can't touch...

titchbunny, 12 May, 2009 at 14:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 45

I have presently got a crocheted throw in my washing machine off my daughters chair in her room, even with rubber gloves on I can't take it out, the thought of touching wet wool fills me with dread.

What can't you touch?

Not the same, but I can't have tissue or paper in my mouth. Even the thought of it makes me heave! ?

I can't stand touching cotton wool. Horrible feeling. MrNeo hates the feeling of untreated/unvarnished wood (like on ice lollies or cheap single use chopsticks). Also have a friend who can't touch frosted glass

also can't touch a picture of a spider or any other creepy crawlies (stupid, I know ?)

Not quite the same, but I can't touch the top of my right foot and can't have anyone else touch it either
It's to do with nerve damage and CRPS though

I can't touch anything if my hands feel dry, I have to moisturise them asap and I can't do anything till I have.

I can't stand frosted glass, won't use it at all and if anyone rubs their hands over it <shudder>

I'm the same as Pink Han-Bag.

can't use a wooden spoon, or write with chalk. I'm a bit dodgy with egg boxes too.

Velvet - our (rented) house has velvet curtains in every window and I can't stand to touch them.

I was reading this thread thinking 'There's nothing I can't touch' until I got to this bit and it sent shivers down my spine. Urgh, it's horrible scraping your teeth against an ice lolly stick.

Unvarnished wood or ceramic.....just typing it makes me spasm and my whole body gets covered in goosebumps! I watched my niece eat a lolly off a wooden stick the other day and I was almost sick! ?

Oh god, cotton wool. The thought of pulling a ball of it apart makes me feel sick, urgh. Also tuna - I can't wash a bowl that's had tuna in for example, it makes me literally heave. I'm so grateful my OH isn't a fan either. Mind you, I don't really like washing up without rubber gloves on, I hate it when there's bits of food in the water ?

Anything that has had tuna or mayonnaise/salad cream on it.

Onions of any description. (Luckily H feels the same way. We have an onion free home!)

And I HATE it when H leaves dishes or pans in the sink with water in them. Yuk.

Me too! Me too! My H thinks I am so weird. It makes my teeth itch and I speak funny - even when i see someone else lick/hold a lolly stick <shudder>.

I also hate touching the edges or bottom of a swimming pool. Or any other wet tiles in a public place.

Other people's hairs (you know when you get a loose, stray wet one in the bathroom or swimming baths.) Grimmer than a grim thing. Actually, anything that's come off other people at the swimming baths is gopping.

Also get the lolly stick thing. it's that wet-tongue-cleaving-to-dry-untreated-wood thing isn't it? Bleck.

That silver metal sheet that has lots and lots of ridges. The thought of catching my nails on it is ergh! I refused to even consider a camera that had it on. My old phone had it on the camera cover but as I won the phone and was very careful not to scrape my nails on it that wasn't too bad.

    Oh and slugs...I run a mile ?

Those brillo pad things with the pink detergent in the middle, especially when they have gone rusty. Also dishcloths- my brother used to chase me round the house with them when I was younger.

Oh yes, I hear you on that one <shudder>

I have a huge fear of snakes so I guess I wouldn't be able to touch one of those ... oh and hypodermic needles ?
