Slow forums

Yep. I'm one of those people. been using this forum for years. Have an extremely fast connection speed.

Can't be arsed to use the forum because waiting for pages to load takes far far too long. Especially, as Nick says, reply pages are particularly awful, which is why its such a bother to reply to anything!

One bug is that when you hit reply and the page loads, you often type a few words to then discover that you need to click on the blank space before you can type...really annoying...(yes I look at keys and not the screen when I type.....)

The last couple of days, when I've been half way through a reply my little reply box goes blank and freezes apart from a wee spinny wheel/timer like thigny and I have to close it down and retype (or not bother for fear it will do it again and I'll forget my original pearls of wisdom)

The slowness of the site is just pathetic now. We have a really fast connection and only suffer with slowness on this site, its really bad moving between multiple pages of posts - its takes an eternity.

It just makes the whole forum experience rather painful if you ask me!

I'm hardly a prolific poster anyway, but have made maybe 10 or 15 posts since Hitched changed as the page seldom loads in under 5 minutes, by which time the conversations have moved on. I cannot edit either. Very frustrating.

It is so slow, it's painful.

I open another tab and look on another site rather than waste 5 minutes waiting for a page on here to load.

Dreadful today. I keep having to close my tab and go back in again. It is incredibly hard to reply. At this time of night you would think that it wouldn't be so bad, but it is as terrible as ever. It puts me off posting and I definately use Hitched less because of it.

Just bouncing this on the off-chance that the powers that be are bothereing ot read it! ?

I'll second everything everyone has said. Its driving me mad.

I can't open 90% of posts as it just doesn't load when i click to open. nothing wrong with my connection either. its the same whether i am at work or at home.

is anything going to be done?

Evidently it isnt being read by anyone. whats the point of having a feedback forum if it isnt being taken notice of?

It is ridiculously slow.

The joy of hitched before was the speed of the forums, the fact that the replies were fast, and the posts plentiful.

Now, it is boring waiting on a page loading, thats if you are lucky enough not to get the error message.

I agree - totally pants! I'm fed up with up tbh - no wonder the number of posts is significantly down.

It's been a little slow for me, but it has kicked more Error pages of late.

I second / third / fourth all the comments about how slow Hitched is - pages take ages to load and making a post is even worse. There is no danger of trying to make 2 posts within 30 seconds anymore ?

I agree, every page takes ages to load, and even longer to post a reply. Very annoying!
