Smooch?

judeclarke, 13 January, 2011 at 19:31 Posted on Planning 0 25

I'm getting a little bit excited - I have a Smooch rep coming on Saturday morning! I'll be eying up something like thei:

My OH wants a plain band, but he wants to look at profiles - D shape or flat.

So who else is shopping with Smooch? What are you having? What was your customer experience?

Meeeeeee, not got an appointment booked yet but hopefully soon!

I want something plain, in palladium, D shape. Not sure if I want diamonds although I do like 3 spaced out like the one you flashed above.

Then again, all this could change when I actually have the all the bling in my hand ?

...and meeeee! Mine came at the begining of the week and am thrilled to bits. I would definitely recomment from a customer service, choice and quality point of view.

    I flashed it here:

Love your choice of ring ?

We ordered ours from Smooch, have had the call to say they are ready (right when they said they would be) and should be arriving in a few days. Really enjoyed the rep experience. Him and hubby watched sport on TV while I took my merry time surrounded by trays and trays of rings, a little piece of girly heaven with no pressure which was fantastic. Not seen the rings yet but great service so far Smiley smile

Im a smooch girl too..... Smiley smile

We ordered our rings with them in November and they get delivered on Saturday and I cant wait to see them.

I have tiny fingers and so I am going for a 2mm simplicity band with 5 diamonds in platinum. And my OH is going for a palladium band 6mm.

I have a Smooch ring too!

I must admit when my wedding ring arrived the first time it wasn't right and I was a bit upset...... However, Laura was fab and helped to get everything sorted. My new ring arrived the weekend before Christmas and I love it!

I was a bit worried when things weren't right the first time - but the way everything was handled was great - and it certainly wouldn't stop me recommending them to anyone.

And now The Bloke has had to hide it from me as I was slightly addicted to trying it on......

Its good to hear a lot of good vibes for smooch. I have a smooch appointment booked for 7pm tonight. I am excited but my OH is being very cautious saying that if we go into a direct debit plan we would be paying for something that we wont actually receive until next year and whats to say the company wont go bust and we will lose our money.

How can i convince him otherwise......?????

Well, I can tell you that we are financially sound, and growing! But obviously that probably won't put your OH's mind at rest... You do have the option to pay your deposit, and then just pay the balance when you want your rings, you don't have to pay monthly, it's just an option that some people find helpful with budgeting. Of course, you can always pay in full and have your rings with you in 4-6 weeks too!

It's the same with many wedding services... Florists, Venues, Photographers, Cakes... You pay your deposit, but something could happen over the next few months and you could lose that deposit (not to scare you! This doesn't happen often, but can) If this is something your OH is worried about, perhaps it might be worth looking into wedding insurance. You can get this for as little as £20 and it would cover you for this kind of thing, and just put your mind at rest.

    HTH?

Wow what great feedback! I have to admit I've never seen bad reports about Smooch, which is why I booked in the first place.

I'd love to see some flashes when people get their rings - pleeeeaaaasse?!

(Laura I have e-mailed you directly for a voucher - TIA!)

    Laura, thank you.

I didnt realise you could pay a deposit and they pay the rest in one go nearer the time. I suppose we would have found this all out tonight Smiley smile

We are going to take wedding insurance anyway as we did recently have a wedding venue booked and its closing,. Lucikly we had only paid £100 deposit.

Thanks Again and i'll let you all know how i get on tonight.

We have just ordered our wedding rings!!!!! The smooch advisor (Ross) was fantastic, incredibly helpful and not at all pushy. He really helped me narrow down my selection.

I am really happy with the rings we selected and I even managed to get some sparkle which i really didnt think we could afford!!!

We have ordered them to arrive the saturday before valentines day next year!!!

MrsDWT, thankyou! I'll pass on your lovely comments to Ross. I'm glad you managed to put your OH's mind at rest too!

Order done ?! I went for the one pictured earlier, OH went for a plain 6mm band. And they even came in on budget! We ended up going for palladium, having looked at the pros and cons of platinum and palladium - and the cost.

Many thanks to Heidi for her patience at my excitement and thanks to Laura for the voucher.

Roll on July so we can confirm sizes and get them made!

I think we'll probably be booking an appointment with a Smooch rep soon, Laura has done a marvellous job of making Smooch appear as a great company that listens and no push on sale, which is what I like.

I'm in two minds what I want for my wedding ring, either with or without diamonds and I like the idea of them coming to your home and bringing the goodies with them so you can try on different styles with the ER to get the best fit/look ?

I'll mention to H2B when he gets out of bed, lazy bugger ? ?

Hurrah! Jude, I'm so glad that you found the perfect ring, looking forward to a flashy flash!

LeeLee, if you're undecided about having diamonds, don't forget you could always get a plain ring and then we can add some diamonds later on if you like. And it doesn't matter how lazy your H2B is, if he wants to look at wedding rings in his dressing gown then he can ?

    Have a great weekend everyone,

    Laura x

As I understand it you choose what you want and they get posted out once you have completed your purchase.

We chased up our odd payment and apparently it was slightly more, as dividing our total by 12 was an odd number and smooch dont 'deal with pennies'! So they had the final one slightly more than the other 11, mine is ready to be sent and Oh's is getting hallmarked this week. I can't wait to see them. Just hoping all the measuring has been done accurately and mine will fit around my ER as designed.
