so the novelty does wear off.....

la1510, 15 May, 2011 at 16:07 Posted on Planning 0 8

It has been a while since I've posted on here- TBH I've kinda lost interest a little bit in the whole wedding facade.

When we first got engaged I was unbearable- everything was wedding related and I couldn't believe that there would be a time I wouldn't be exctied about wedding planning. I think that once the 'fun stuff' was booked like the venue, car's, dress bought etc. I was a bit 'now what??' It's only really the little things and the more complex things left i.e. things that I actually need to sit down and think about and not just pick and pay for. I'm now avoiding these tasks completely and I'm getting sick of everyone asking how the planning is going.

It dosn't help that my BF and bridesmaid got engaged a few weeks ago and is just starting the exciting stage of planning, visiting venues etc and I'm a litte bit jealous at her excitement- Oh how do I get the excitment back into planning???

Hitched is actually helping a little bit- I have missed it ?

It does lull a little bit once you've planned the big things. I didn't really do much for about 12 months after booking the big things.

I honestly think that once things start kicking off again nearer the time you will get excited again.

Oh goodness of course, once all the big stuff is booked then it seems like theres nothing to do, but don't wish that time away because before you know it, it'll be less than 4 months and you have a list as long as your arm of things to do!!! I think once you get more into things again you'll get excited.

My CBM got engadged on valentines too so there was a little period of her excitement but she doesn't get married till 2014! so its all back to my wedding excitement.

Yup totally with you on this one - I'm mid lull as well really... All big stuff is booked, now starts the hard work with making stuff (invites, veil and shoe corsages) and I just can't bring myself to do it at the moment. I'm hoping once all my uni work is out of the way I'll get my ooomph back...

Oh my word yes, when close friends would ask id just tell them that i was completely bored of the whole thing and couldnt wait for it to be over. i think when you get to counting months rather than saying 'ooh its next october' then it gets better. if anyone gets me started now then i become unbearable!!

you will get your wedding groove back! xxx

Yeah it really does wear off once you hit that middle phase. It does all start to feel buzzy and thrilling again though. That's not always a good thing though, I almost miss my wedding fatigue! I've been constantly excited/stressed/excited/stressed for about a fortnight now and it's exhausting!
