I've always been 'into' vampires. Don't know why really. I remember buying the Interview with a Vampire trilogy a few years back and struggled to get through the first one. I found it hard going to be honest. I don't think I ever finished reading the Vampire Lestat....

Then Twilight came along...and then Vampire Diaries and I have to say, I think I prefer Vampire Diaries out of the two.

Another one thats never seen twilight. I started to read the first book a while ago but couldnt get in to it. I dare say that I would enjoy the films, just never got round to it. I can see the fascination though...... I love the original Dracula (Bram Stoker).

I read the entire Twilight series 5 times in 6 months....how bad is that? For Christ's sakes I'm nearly 26!!! I found them completely un-put-downable.

Couldn't put a particular reason on why, I guess it is just a lovely love story with a twist. Normally it's one or the other other- Romance or Horror. Personally I find the combination of the 2 irresistible!

Also love Vampire Diaries, can't wait for it to be back tomorrow!!!

I loved Buffy then loved Interview with a vampire. I then read the Twilight books which were fab and love the films. My favourite right now though is Vampire Diaries. What I wouldn't give to be nibbled by Damon ?

Ive not seen Twilight or vampire diaries etc, i did watch Trueblood for a bit, then it got a bit boring, i dont really watch much on 'regular tv' as i said in the Monday tv thread H tends to dominate the tv with all his stuff - some of which i dont mind but it feels like i lose touch with whats going on in normal tv land! lol

Ive found that a lot of people dont get it but once they have read the books they really get into it - i havent known anyone to not like them once they have read them.

Read Twilight quite quickly and really enjoyed them the films are OK but as normal they cut things out argh

But enjoying True Blood Eric is a dish yum yum, Just hope season 3 is better than season 2....

It is sadly a bangwagon that has been well and truly jumped on. I'm with Trickster tho... adored the Lost Boys film and think bats are proper cute! We have them in the roof here and I love seeing them all come out at dusk ....

Interview with a Vampire .... loved the books, and its one of my fav films - the story, the locations, the costumes, the darkness of the characters, the opulance and total poverty of the era..... beats the crap out of the likes of Twilight I'm afraid. Couldn't give a monkeys that its tom cruise or brad bitt ... just loved the story.

I really enjoyed the twilight books which I read first mind - and found the style of the writing up my street - it was erotic without being graphic, and you created the characters in your mind. Since the film came out its spoiled it as everything is 'team jacob' or 'team edward' and is all about the film stars, not the written character. Waaaay too much hype there, and I thought the first film was average. Saw it for £5 in tesco and thought 'why not' but didn't rate it. RP is a rubbish actor in my opinion!! Keifter Sutherland was the original bad boy vampire ... would kick Edwards glittery eirse!

I got into true blood (vamp porn at its best) but I think I OD'd on it when i was off work in the summer - watched series 1 and 2 in the space of a week, then found series 3 online but gave up after episode 3 .... I liked the 'f u' attitude of most of the characters in that (and eric was a dish) .... but I've not watched it for months now.

But I do feel that its more a 'fashion' thing now, which is a shame...
