Some advice needed please,regards dress!

Hello ladies and gents!

I'm in a pickle as to what to do!!!

We get married Sept 2012, so 14ish months away, I went dress shopping last week with my MoH, I went as I needed to get it out of my system as planning had come to a standstill!Anyway I didn't find much I liked, and to be honest didn't really enjoy it. But it was a first visit and this is just to get an idea as I have ages to get a dress. Yesterday I went to a different shop with my sister and I tried a few more dresses on, this time i was dreading it, but the lady in the shop was lovely and my sister was really helpful, and together the 3 of us picked a few dresses. So off I go and try them on. The first one was ok, just a wedding dress, second one was lovely and fun, but not me, bit to quirky, then I tried a lace one on, lovely but made me feel a bit big on the hips. The next dress was AMAZING, I loved it and it took me by suprise as I didn't think i'd feel this way! It pulls me in all the right places and I felt like a princess (hehe!!) my only criticism as the train was a little long, but I am only a shorty at 5'1 so it looks much longer! anyway I tried another on with a shorter train and didn't like it. So tried my fave back on, and loved it even more, I spent ages looking at myself (thats so not me!) in the mirror, twirling and taking in every angle. So here comes the pickle I was not expecting to find THE dress, I was just looking for inspiration but THE dress is a Sophia Tolli in the sale she was selling it for £1295, but its up for £550. I have put it by and am going back on Sat with my MoH to try again. Sooooooooooooo do I buy it, it seems such a bargain, or should I wait as its ages before wedding!!!!

Hope this all makes sense!!!

Clare xx

    IMO I would buy it!!

Just think, down the line when you want to buy a dress and you cant find anything that makes you feel the way that dress did, you will end up regretting it! Once you know its the one.. you know...

I got mine 18 months before!

Get it now. You can always sell it on if you change your mind, but one piece of advice if you do get it is stop looking!!!

    You'll only get unneccesary wobbles!

Definitely get it. if you love it and it's a great price, I think you'll kick yourself if you don't. I got mine around 16 months before.

Definitely buy it. Like Mrs C, I bought mine 18 months before the wedding. It was a sale dress and discontinued so I snapped it up. My advice would be try on lots more different styles just to be 100% sure. I spent a full week going to store after store and tried on hundreds of dresses but still came back to my dress.

WTS, if it's the one (and it sounds like it really is) on sale then you'd be crazy not to! Who cares that there's 14 months left, it's one less thing you have to do next year!!!

WTS, I'd buy it especially as it's on sale, you know when its the one. I brought my dress 18 months before my wedding I knew it was the one because I didn't want to take it off and couldn't stop looking at myself in it.

One thing though, if you do get it STOP LOOKING otherwise you might start getting dress wobbles.

What everyone else said! Buy it! You know when it's the one.

The first time I went dress shopping I fell in love with a dress but didn't want to commit to it as it was the first time I'd been shopping. I popped back in a couple of weeks later to have another look at it and it had been discontinued - I was heart broken [:'(]

    Definitely seize the opportunity!

Oh my gosh, how is this even a question! Lol - just joking. I totally know the dilemma, from personal experience. But, you sound like you have found 'your' dress. If you truly love it half as much as your post made out, then don't hesitate, just buy it.

I found my dress in september of last year, and don't get married until October this year! x

A dress you love, makes you feel fantastic and it's saving you a huge amount of money. Why wouldn't you buy it? You will regret it if you don't.

Thanks for all your advice over past few days, I have an appointment to take my MoH and mum to try dress again today.

Do you think it would be wrong to ask to try another couple of dresses on, just so I know its the right one! I'm pretty sure its 'THE' dress but want to make sure!!

I think you should ask to try on a couple of others - like you say, just so you can be certain that it is "the one." I don't think the shop will have any issues with it as you are just making sure!
