Some Advice please...

Mitzi50, 4 July, 2011 at 13:31 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

OK, so this maybe better aimed at BT but I havent introduced myself in there yet and im a bit scared!

Have any of you come of the pill? What were your experiences with this? I had my withdrawl bleed (sorry if TMI) immediately and nothing since, and that was 6 weeks ago. Is that normal?

Thanks

It's six years since I stopped the pill, so can't remember exactly, but I know it took a few months for af to settle down. Go and say hi on BT, they're a knowledgeable and friendly bunch, and I bet you'll get lots if replies x

I've not so I'm only getting this second hand from Bt but I think a lot of the girls in there have said that it took 3-12 months for their cycles to settle down after stopping the pill. Don't be afraid to jump in and ask over there, they're all really friendly (and if you want to dip your toe in first rather than doing a full blown cannonball try asking on the TTC thread)

I've recently stopped taking mine and haven't had a bleed yet. I had just had one though when I decided to stop taking it

I've just stopped a few weeks ago, so I'll keep you posted. I've come off it before though when I was younger and it was 8 or 9 weeks till I had a period.

I think it varies a bit from person to person. My little sister said it took her a good 6 months to get in any way settled after she came off, so I wouldn't think 6 weeks would be too unusual or anything to be worried about.

Oh good good, I feel a little bit more 'normal' now then!

I wont start worrying just yet!

    Thanks

Pop over and say hi, it's not scary there I promise.

I came off the pill and waited nearly 2 weeks for my withdrawal bleed which was unusual. I then had a 28 day cycle and thought 'great I'm back to normal'. Since then I've had 33, 34, 36 and 43 days so it can take a while for your body to readjust.

Also, sorry to be nosy, but have you been careful since coming off it? As it's really common to hyperovulate and fall pregnant really quickly straight after coming off the pill.
