Table Arrangement *Flash*- Your Thoughts & Suggestions Please?!

MrsMac2be, 13 March, 2011 at 15:29 Posted on Planning 0 12

I was thinking of having these as my table arrangement

But then I decided to have these as my "table numbers".. freestanding wooden numbers but I will be spray painting them in a very cool purple glittery paint

However I am now thinking with the flower arrangement being so short/low I think it will look maybe awkward together? so now pondering whether to have a tall arrangement so that the number can stand, quite happily, in front of them without being the same height and looking odd...

Well done if you are keeping up with my ramblings but any suggestions on what to have now as my table centrepieces?

I think those centrepieces are beautiful! Could you not have a card sticking out through the centre of the flowers with the table number on, something like this? You get little cards on clips like that when you get a bunch of flowers from the florist ?

I *love* those numbers! Can I ask where you found them?

Love the flowers too, but I can see what you mean about the height of the two being similar... How about raising the number on a stand, with a lower lying floral arrangements surrounding it? So then you kind of keep elements of the two ideas. Although then I suppose thats making more of a feature of the number than the flowers so I dunno... Sorry, I don't have much of an imagination for flowers and centrepiece things - Its the one bit of my planning that I'm struggling with!

Hiya KBS - Stunning centerpieces absolutely love them! Plus love the idea of the numbers too - I am looking to do similar to this am getting mine from hobbycraft and going to do a trial run in a few weeks so fingers crossed.

Anyway back to your centerpieces lol! Are you able to raise the center of the table under the table linen like this

Then your centerpieces would have more height without changing them and you could keep your table numbers x

I think the painted table nos will compliment the lovely centerpeices, really like Snail's idea of the table no sticking out the top too.

Love the flower arrangement, and the numbers.

Not sure if this would work but what about having a slightly taller square vase and then put the number in the vase with the flower arrangement on top?

    Or would that not work?

I was going to say hte same- i think it would look nice with the number inside the vase with the flowers ontop. You could then even place some sprinlkes inside the vases around the numbers.

I wouldn't use the wooden Numbers in the arrangement as they are too chunky & will take away from the delicate vase & flowers.

You could just have the number freestanding on the table next to the vase. Guests will find the Tables from your table plan anyway,

Yes, I do want to have the numbers freestanding but I am worried/concerned that the "shortness" of the vase will be the same height as the number and will look completely odd and out of place... so would a taller vase/arrangement look better?

It would look fine as it is stood next to the vase as the flowers will mmake it taller. You could use a taller vase but then the numbers would look lost.

I know the numbers are about 15cm tall so what would be your guestimate for the vase and flowers together in height?

You can buy the vases in different heights so it would depend but they would be at least 15 - 25cms taller than the numbers.
